BudBuilt - Whats The Deal

First, I already used "search" function and did not find a definitive answer. His regular sliders state for TE only. But then he has "Limited Edition" and does not specify what series. This leads me to believe they are for 4Runners Limited Edition, which I have. Would love these w/o having to mod anything. So what's deal? Are they for 5th Gen Limited Editions or are they limited editions? If the latter, his site is confusing and should specify what model(s) as his other sliders do.

They are or our limited 4runners. They are built to hang lower than the trail Ed. No mod necessary. I'm assuming he's done something for the xreas lines.

You do not have to modify rockers. Otherwise, there would be no point in having a different set of sliders compared to what he already sells. This also means that his new product will/should fit sr5s as well.

This is why I am so confused...granted thats easy to do. Between your response and the one prior, two different answers. I desperately want it to be what you wrote.

Have you or anyone else purchased these for your 5th Gen Limited and not had to do any modifying at ALL? I can not find anything definitive via search.

Bud did not have these available when the order was placed with him. Limamike picked these up when bud had come out with the Limited option.

Never the less, I will confirm with Lisa on Monday.

I had inquired about this awhile back and was told that the mount is different to allow for the XREAS lines and that modding or removal of the rocker was still necessary.

Please let us know what you find out,TIA :thumb3:

When I asked Bud, he told me the TE and Limited had different mounting points due to XREAS/ KDSS. Maybe I'm misunderstood, I would take a dealer of his product's word over mine.

True, but the larger question for me is the rocker panel. I do not want to remove it, I prefer the finished look. Looking forward to Mondays answer.

These aren't BudBuilt, who is the manufacturer?? Why does the actual slide rail sit at an angle and not level with the ground?

Buds limited sliders dont sit any lower than the trail version.

You do have to either remove your rockers or cut them if you plan on installing Buds sliders. This is a good thing, it gives you the clearance you should want if you are installing sliders.

These are from White Knuckle Off Road, these 5th Gens are not pictured on site yet. But they look basically like the 4th Gens.

These look pretty good and come with full platting as an option! Without having to modify the rocker panel!! :reddance:

So does he have any intention of making a set that will fit?

I know that the Trail Edition is popular but there has got to be just as much interest in proper sliders for the SR5/Limited. I'd be curious as to just how many of these have gone onto the SR5/Limited.
