I would second that. I ended up just getting everything from The Retrofit Source. I had originally intended to do a "budget build" between $100-150. After pricing everything out, I got everything from them for $251.62 shipped with a coupon code. I got morimoto everything because they offered a solid warranty and the guys at TRS were really easy to get in touch with. It could have been less had I not bought their HID's (total for that was $125 for bulbs, ballasts and igniters). Could have still used their controller though. My credit card also extends original warranties for an additional 2 years.

I ordered from DDM (because of the lifetime warranty and integrated shroud/halos) but if the gear is coming from China directly you can probably expect a few weeks delay.

I just finished installing these, so I couldnt lay them down and get a 100% readout. Looks like they are roughly 3inches, which is roughly 76mm. Sorry for giant picture.

Does anybody know how to wire LED Halos as both the DRL as well as the turn signal... Is that even possible?

I am almost positive these will be 70mm angel eyes, I cannot say for sure. Based on OP's picture, it looks close to 2.7" so, that would make it 70mm, possibly 80mm. Anyone?

Since someone liked a previous post in here that just notified me, I think I'll update. I went back to halogens several months ago. The forward output was okay, but I wasn't happy with the side throw, and I could NOT for the life of me get the cutoff lined up past maybe 30 feet, which drove me absolutely nuts. Everything went in the trash minus the housings, which will probably find their way there eventually.

I did this over the summer and they are far from perfect. The cut offs don't meet up but they are level with each other which makes it better. However I actually really like them now. The solid cut off keeps me from getting flashed, light distribution is far better. Wish it went farther but that's likely due to the steep rake on the truck. If anything I think it has encouraged me to get better projects and hid bulbs from like the retrofit source.
If you can do that yourself I would suggest that. Some local guys have them and it's a world of difference when you buy quality parts.

If this truck was destined for longer service, I would do just that. As it stands however, it's halfway out the door already. So Halogens it is till she's gone.

Shame to hear it won't be sticking around. I plan to keep building it into an overland rig so anything that breaks will just be upgraded and upgraded so I can keep going. I see people always saying they're going to upgrade to a new vehicle because it's too expensive to fix the old one, and I just think what are you fixing that costs 30 or $40,000. Because that's when the new one is going to cost you. Plus you still have to modify that one. My 2 cents though

Do you think more tweaking could have gotten them to your satisfaction?
I was getting rather close to trying this kit out, but I have a feeling I will
likely go the retroresource route.

Chicago truck. It's rust issues are catching up to it. Hole in the frame, on top of the body rust. I could deal with it if it was just one or the other, but both.... well, it's not worth it. I could get another 3rd gen, but I'm going to need more room sooner than later (possibly kid number 2), so a 5th Gen is probably going to replace it. I only say probably because I haven't ruled out an older Sequoia. I totally agree with you about the money, but if I am going to replace this thing no matter what, it makes sense to go newer.
Doubtful. I think perhaps my expectations were too high. MAYBE if I had road legal fog lights, I would've been ok with them, but the lack of side throw killed me. I run a lot of back roads in the dark, so seeing what's coming out on the sides of the road is imperative.

How long did you rock these cheapo projectors, before tossing them? I just installed mine this week, and am getting them situated for cold weather trials.

Probably 6 months? Maybe 7. Again, if I had some fogs to supplement, I probably would've kept them in despite the cutoff annoying me. But, combine all of it together and I went back to the OEM lights with my light bar on when there's no on coming traffic. Oh, I will say I thought the brights were FANTASTIC, but you can't run those all the time, ya know?

Did you run the hi/lo wire out of the light housing through the center of the rubber washer or did you unpin the plug and run the wires through the slot in the housing behind the bulb? Thanks.

Ok, through the center won't work. I forgot about the nut. Guess that answers my question.
