I can't blame you, now that i'm on 35's and hitting the base daily i find myself thinking about a daily
Was this on our local craigslist, didn't see it, probably a good thing as would have caused a fight with my wife. I want a 22re Runner for several reasons, one of which is my daughter turned 15 last week, and she wants to go to Cornell, she has the grades and is at WestShore - being in Merritt Island sure you know the school. So she can do it easily with the drive and desire she has, I would love to build her - well force her to build with me a 1st or 2nd gen as her first vehicle and with the intention if lasting her through college
I probably would have thumbed right past the Runner due to the auto, but its so damn easy to switch to manual not sure why i would, and our craigslist and Daytona's Craigslist is always littered with 1st and 2nd gen truck parts that go right on!
BTW, I'll be ready for a hardrock trip soon! Want to do the wheel bearings and brakes before but don't anticipate that being too long!

[MENTION=1474]vandert[/MENTION] This 1st gen would take a good bit of work to be a DD for a 16 year old. It would be a good way for her to learn how to drive but it's not the safest. Brakes need done and these wide tires will hydro plane on a drop of water. So thinner tires would be needed. AC is not working (compressor dead I think) and the controls are shot so the dash has to come apart. There are 1st gens in better shape but people want a lot for them. Going on the T4R camping trip to Juniper springs in Ocala on the weekend of July 21st so maybe we'll see you there! Oh shit I can probably make that one!!!!! Won't be able to make the Appalachian one this fall so this would be awesome to go on and would do easily as truck sits now!
As for the daughters first ride not my first rodeo would do a full rebuild. Pull engine and refresh with enginebldr kit like my last one few lc engineering or old Downey parts if I can source them. New clutch, rebuild everything all new alternator and front items to last and have warranty on the parts, aisian front hubs, nothing larger than a BJ lift as would prefer IrS for her would leave open front and rear with the stock 4.10's. A small BJ lift for front and refreshed spring pack for the rear and then we would do all bodywork and do a cheap paint job that we would add clear to as have experienced that as the best way even a Maco 700 dollar job can be good if clear is applied properly and cut and buffed! Would make it a long term project with her being able to drive it once engine and drivetrain were compete! Would be ideal to get a running one but would take a non running one if I can verify all parts are there. My last 1st gen I bought, well traded a set of 33's and new rims for ~ 600 bucks to a guy in Rockledge! I know where a badass 2nd gen is that hasn't ran in 2 years is that has everything done but guy lost interest and it's sas, locked don't and rear and just really needs an engine it is already dual Toyota gearboxes have considered taking my current runner to 265's and taming down for my daughter and buying that second gen and doing a Jz-gre build with Grip helping me here and making it my daily and trail pig. My wife is the holdup on that, but we are honestly a bit back and forth on the marriage right now. If we go south I would probably go that route and get a 1k beater civic for daughter and I to switch off using while I built the 2nd gen....

Sitting in Rockledge right now and he has no love left for it, got a bad back injury and didn't work for 2 years so they are behind on bills, he just started working again and I had inquired a year or so about it he let me know on Memorial Day he would be open to selling to an enthusiast like me....

Thanks [MENTION=154018]mscot[/MENTION]! I know, surprised this color was never that popular. I never see any here in Fla. Love the Pearl, gives it so much depth. I've trashed it pretty good now, needs some scratch and dent repair w a good detail lol.

Added an GOBI, Awning, Shower, full wrap on front and roof,Light Bar. Most extensive was the sleeping platform and storage, which is removable if you need to convert it back to full seating.

Trd Pro suspension question
Hi all,
My apologies if I posted in the wrong section. I have a 2015 Trd Pro. I have the 2" toytec lift kit on it that comes with the superflex rear coils.
-Other add-ons:
-Slee Sliders
-CBI Steel rear swing out bumper
-Front Runner Slimline 2 full rack
-Tepui Autana XL Sky rooftop tent (only on when we are camping- this is new and has not been used yet).

I like the way it sits when I am fully unloaded. When I have ppeoe in back seat and maybe 2 labs and gear on top it says. If I pull my 5x8 trailer with load it really seems to sag.
I want the front and back to be mostly level when unloaded. I would like to reduce sag when I have it loaded.
What can I do in respect to new rear springs? I am not sure what the load details are on the superflex that came with the Toytec Kit.
Any suggestions on what springs to add to the rear of this TRD Pro /stock Bilstein with Toytec 2" kit.
I attached a recent photo. Unloaded with Kuat NV 2 bike rack on back.

Second, you could just add airbags for when you are loaded and then deflate them when not.
