Christmas in AZ

Sonoran Desert with a cloudy phone lens and some Snap Seed on the 2nd pic. Forgot my Canon. Found a couple trails near my family's house south of Phoenix. Big fun!....until you hit a deep wash out. Still learning this desert thing lol. Oh and staying off the res is a wise thing as well. Driving off pavement on Native property will get your vehicle confiscated and impounded from what I hear.

"LE MAE" getting old, 100,000 miles soon. New URD Crossover, a MagnaFlow muffler, and new plugs made her feel just fine!

Got tired of THIS:
GOPR7971.JPG
So I did this:
IMG_3890 - Copy.JPG
Then found some old Rustoleum in the garage and painted the under body.

Gonna take some getting used to.....got somewhat lucky on the paint as it faintly resembles my wheel color lol.

Sorry I don't have much detail or procedure, but doing this install in a single car garage and working by myself with no suspension experience, I was gettin my old self beat up lol.
So its not much of a thread compared to the Masters of the Build Thread on this site. Antman, harper7, Titanpat57, LawnDart, and Okki just to name a few. They all have detailed threads on a wide assortment of Mods. 1engineer has some of the best compiled info on a lot of the threads he has put together. Most of these Mods have already been done, and done well and documented well by the gentlemen listed above. I would not be attempting any of these mods with out this forum. The member posts, Build Threads, Stickys, and GBs I have scoured over in the past 10 months are numerous and greatly appreciated!!
Thank you T4R.org for all the knowledge!!
2nd and 3rd pic is front suspension mostly completed.
Still have the driver side MStudt Sway Bar link to install and check torque on everything, then I'm on to the back end. Putting in King Adj., 2" Icon springs, Icon Trailing arms, Upper Links, Track bar, and MStudt rear Sway Bar links, so any tips, warnings, encouragement, and ugh (criticism) :smow: is welcome.

fireman9027 Yea I been having a couple set backs as well. I work on the road a lot, but if we can schedule some weekends when I'm home, I would be glad to turn some wrenches on your rig. My problem is a single car garage, and it's the only level surface I have for putting anything on jack stands. Driveway is on a pretty good pitch. Anyway, I think I saw you the other day. Is that a TRD Pro?

did you personally wrap your muffler?
could you go into the process and material use?
It's the "URD Y" cross over pipe that I wrapped actually, not the muffler.
Design Engineering Pipe Wrap & Ties Kit 2" x 25 ft - TAN
from Advance Auto Parts is the wrap and the stainless straps I used. I don't think 25ft was enough to do the whole crossover pipe.

ATTN!! WEAR LONG SLEEVES AND GLOVES ATTN!!!This is a woven fiberglass product. Basically I just used one of the straps to anchor the one end of the roll and wrapped it tightly around it like the strip on a barber pole/candy cane, taking care to wrap a one inch overlap. If you have ever wrapped E tape around some wires it was similar to that. Take your time and it will turn out alright. There are probably professional services for this as well but I did not research that option.

Why wrap?
Sorry I missed this post. I wrapped the Y pipe just to try and keep the heat down around the transmission. In the dirt and sand I get the rpms up on this thing, which in turn heats the transmission so I really need a cooler, but I figured the wrap couldn't hurt.

Great weekend with the Toyota boys.

Very nice, makes me miss my 1st gems, well the bracket lift doesn't;). Plans to restore, restomod, or trail pig?
