How labor intensive is the install? I picked mine up on Friday, but I am planning a couple of days to install them. So it may be a couple weeks before I get to it. That and I want to have some mild temperatures for the tape to bond properly. It'll also give me time to put all the bolts in at my leisure.
Contrary to what some people think, those rivets are just dummies and don't actually screw into the truck. They use the factory mounts that the OEM flares use but you add a screw to each end of the flare. There is weatherstripping that you have to install to each flare that sits between the flare and the truck. That was probably the hardest part to do because once you peel the backing off and try to apply it, it just wants to curl up. It def requires a bit of patience. Otherwise, its pretty straightforward and the build quality of these flares are fantastic.
BTW, the front flares actually sit over the OEM flares. The rear ones however require the removal of the OEM flares before installing the rear set.

I should be getting mine in a couple weeks here. Pretty excited. I was going to have a shop do the install since I don't have much time but after a $440 labor quote I laughed and I'll find time haha

No they are held on by clips that break when you remove them. There are screws on the underside of each fender that also secure them to the truck.

Unless you're planning on installing them for the entire neighborhood three days is an overkill
Less than an hour total (including putting all the rivets in)

Bingo. The issue is the pockets for the bolts end up sorta intersecting with where you'd likely have to cut. Which looks weird for sure. Not only that but these bumper out far enough they require spacers on your wheels to end up looking even again. Being forced to run spacers for some isn't an option. Maybe down the road they'll make smaller aftermarket flares. The snorkel is a complete corner case in regards to what the flares were designed around.
That changes things for sure. I'm running spacers but I rather do the snorkel for functionality purposes than the flares for cosmetics and some functionality. Looks like I'll wait for ARB to release the snorkel. Keep us updated Dart

I'm 57 and the lower joints don't work so well anymore. So I tend to take things like this slowly. The wife and I spent the SOTU putting the rubber trim and bolts on last night, so that part is done. I may try to mount them up on Friday (my next day off). I just planned on 2 days so I wouldn't have to drive it to work half done if I did run into any snags.
So are yours installed and done? If so where are the pics? :tongue1:

I was just messing with you, I'm still on the fence about them, I tend to buy functional items over cosmetic plastics. I've had them installed on my Fj hence I know the time and work needed to fit them with the snorkel. And the only reason they made it on the previous truck was because insurance paid for them after an accident.

For sure, i'll update you, but I'd say with 90 percent certainty I'll ditch the BW flares and just line-x/rhino line the stock flares. But if your goal is to use the snorkel, which I know isn't out yet, then likely you'll have to opt for the stock flares over these.
At least this won't comes as a surprise. Will let you know for sure though.
