Buying Advice Needed

I'm thinking about trading in my '14 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for a 4Runner. I'm a looks kind of guy and just really like the hood scoop available on the Trail version and the TRD Pro. I am able to pick up a TRD Pro for the same price as a Trail Teams Premium with KDSS.

I know this is an individual preference question but I'd like to hear what others think about which is the better buy. I've got pretty thick skin so you forum bullies can throw in your sarcasm as well.

Just traded my lifted unlimited rubicon in on a new TRD Pro and don't regret a thing.

I don't plan on lifting the 4runner either though and also plan on purchasing a TJ soon too fulfill my off road needs.

Grabbed a 2015 TRD Pro Inferno in Ocala few weeks ago. Saw another for sale last week in Lakeland

traded my 2012 jku altitude with lift and 35's and got a trail premium w/ kdss. Love the vehicle tires next week, lift quickly following.

If you're going to keep it stock? The TRD Pro. If you want to modify, the Trail KDSS is probably the better starting point.

I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with it given that you live in a state that's flat as a board.

My Wrangler Unlimited has a 2.5" lift with 35's. Love the look and with only a 15" commute to work I never minded the drive. Now I drive almost an hour to and from work and I notice the brick driving down the interstate. It's not so bad on the way into work but I really feel the lack of comfort and driving dynamics on the drive home after working 12 hours. With that being said, I have no desire to modify the 4Runner. It'll be a pavement queen only.

15" commute?

Dude, just walk:shocked:

i have a "pavement queen" as well. I like the hood scoop and always regretted not getting a sport in 07 when I bought my 1st 4runner. After I found out its just there for looks I didn't feel as bad. I have the 15' limited now and could not be happier.

Between the two, I would be looking at the TE for a pavement queen, as the KDSS by almost all accounts adds some on road stability with the thicker sway bars. You can easily mod the TE with TRD wheels and a Pro front end to get the full Pro look with a sunroof.

I just traded in a 14 Rubicon Unlimited for a Trail Premium. I chose the Trail over the Pro for the sunroof, leather, and the heated seats. Sure, I may have given up something in off road prowess, but 99% of my driving is on the road and the Trail has served me well on that 1% off road.
