Calling all V8's....

I wanted the V8 because it was the same engine/transmission, in 2004 that they put in the Landcruiser and Lexus LX470. Kind of cool if you think about it, that you can get the Lexus big dog engine transmission that goes in a $70K+ Luxury SUV in a mid-size Toyota SUV. That is hard to pass up for $40K less 
Now in 2005 you get a better V8 in the 4runner then they put in the big dog Lexus, the world as I use to know it no longer makes sense

Hopefully the boys in brown are putting my TRD dual exhaust on my porch as I type.
Planning to install it tonight, so I can actually hear that V8 power.
BTW - PROZAC - That extra wide oil filter doesn't fit mine either, the A/C line is in the way and won't allow the filter to screw all the way down. So now I have a Mobil 1 filter for a Toyota diesel (that's what the book said) that I can't use.

18 and 20 are wishful thinking in my opinion. I'm thinking mixed driving, not highway. And again I refer to the original window sticker on the trucks.

I used to work in Jersey and always filled up there (actually someone else filled it upKoz said:
, another benny for filling up in jersey) because of the price difference.I just paid $2.42/gal. yesterday and pumped $50.50 into it.
I knew you weren't refering to me I just wanted no confusion on the gas mileage post I made.

V8 Here!
Have mine for a month now and I really like it. It is such a smooth motor! It looks so cool with the hood open!
I love that oil filler neck! A casting like that is such an expensive fitting on a motor. The low profile valve covers and the plug coils are realy neat. Anyone else notice some exterior parts of the engine that really stand out that I should look for?
Also, a totally lazy question, dont own a repair manual yet,
do you have to take off the skid plate to do an oil change?
Oh, also I like the way Toyota has put that mesh screen on the front of the skid plate, looks good.
And yeah, six cylinder rants have no place here, this is a mutual admiration thread, our self esteem is hi and we can live on that w/o pickin on anything else

In the 0 to 60 you're going to hit the finish line what, one second faster than I do? That is definitely worth $1500 in purchase and $250 more a year in gas. Be kind, I'm an old guy.

Certainly speed is not the only consideration for buying a V8. Up until now you also got a five speed tranny. You also get AWD and a couple other V8 advantages.
Why is this an issue old guy? You must have plenty of money if that is you wife and you are old as you allude to be.:arrow:
