camelback / toyota part zone exp?

hey guys,

i'm shopping for a few parts, and i'm finding much better prices on camelback and toyota parts zone than my local dealer. For example, spark plug wires at my dealer are $120 compared to $50 on both these sites.

has everyone had good experiences with these 2 sites? everything OEM etc?

Lastly, is one better than the other in terms of shipping/returns/etc? Their prices are pretty similar.

Never had a bad experience buying from either. Buy from with confidence.

That said, I believe Camelback is free shipping over $60 or $80, I can't remember, as long as the weight is under a certain poundage.
 
+1 more for Camelback. I got my Tundra TRD springs and my LBJs from them with no problems. They're usually slightly cheaper than anyone else as well.
 
BTW, get your spark plug wires from Amazon, they are a lot cheaper. Otherwise both sites are very trusting and much better than the dealer.
 
Camelback Toyota Online Parts .... IS A DEALER. They are located in Texas and you can find their dealership easily.

What the local dealer is doing is marking the price up 25 - 100% over MSRP for parts. That is what Toyota San Diego (near PB) did to me.

MSRP: $14.9
Camelback Toyota Online Parts: $10.50
San Diego Toyota: $30.05

WTF!

I was in a hurry to the get the part so I told the local dealer I will pay them MSRP and no higher and they agreed immediately. They would not even talk about matching Camelback Toyota Online Part's price.

When you order from Camelback my only advice is this ..... use the phone (if needed) to verify part #s, then write them down for reference. THEN order the parts on the website, not over the phone. If you completely order over the phone it is harder to track your package, email etc. Use the website for the final order.

I have only had one bad experience with Camelback which I am still trying to fix. I ordered intake manifold gaskets for our 3.4s and they sent me gaskets to something else. They answer regular questions right away, but when you have a problem it takes a while to get a response or help over the phone.
 
they picked up the phone immediately and gave me a PN i was looking for... so far so good.

the only thing i'd be worried about is returning something over shipping, so hopefully i dont have to return anything i order! :)

Brian -- same thing with the local dealer here.. you saw the price I posted about plug wires VS camelback.

Read the return policy on their website. There are some things that can't be returned or refunded: electrical parts and PayPal purchases, etc. Restocking fees may also apply on returns. You might want to check it out.

+1 (3?) for Camelback.

Bought my T4R from Camelback. Drove 6 hours from So cal. I was a little disappointed when I arrived and the truck had no floor mats. I asked them to throw some in, claimed "they didn't have any". Other than that, they were a pleasure to deal with.
 
Whenever you need a part fast or that day, dont hesitate to get it from your local dealership even if it costs more. Just order the same item # from amazon/camelback/ebay/toyota parts zone, and just return it to your dealership using the same receipt.

No problemo.

I actually get my truck serviced there.

Ask for parts at the counter and you'll get raped just like any other dealer...

Service guys are pretty good though. Never been taken advantage of, gotten a few freebies from them as well. Had them replace my check valve on my gas tank to pass emissions back in February and they threw in a road-force balance for free because asked them to see if they noticed a wobble. It's better, but not gone.
 
I've only used camelback once so far. I bought OTRE and LBJs. Shipped pretty quickly...to FL. I, unfortunately, live in TN :-/. They wrote the wrong zip code on my order. How does that happen when you order over the net anyway??

Called them and got it corrected, but didn't get a sorry for the inconvenience or anything. Not sure if I'll be a return customer or not.
 
I've purchased parts online from both, Camel Back and Toyota part zone. Pricing was so much less than our local dealer and shipping was very fast. I haven't had to return anything yet so I can't speak to that. Otherwise, I'd recommend both.
 
Just purchased something from Camelback. +1 They keep you updated with emails as to where your order is.

Camelback prices are less because they are using wholesale price. They aren't making but 10% on each part.
