Tracking down a clunking sound, I found this. The bolt is too long for the nut to get tight. Someone added washers but it wasn't enough. I added a few more and got her tightened down until I can order the correct bolt. No more clunk.

Finished products

The bhlm sure shows how bad my lenses are. I need to polish them up asap.

None to be found

I also bought a grease gun and grease to lube the driveshaft. Made a hell of a mess and crawled under just to find.............no zerks. I'm guessing all the stuff I read about driveshaft issues was only on 4x4s? Oh well. One less problem to worry about.

I'm almost thinking the wheels look too bright now. May be time to dip them also.

Looking good. Personally I think it looks great with the factory limited rims. I'm mighty jealous you have them in fact. I wish I could find someone who is selling theirs just so I could get a set.

Thanks bud. :thumb3: I think these are the best looking stock wheels Toyota ever made. My last T4R had the same ones on it before I went with a larger tire and deeper offset. 18" seems to be the perfect size to me.

Productive weekend ahead?

2 FJ FRONT COILS W/SHOCKS
2 FJ REAR COILS W/SHOCKS
2 TOYTEC 3" FRONT SPACER
2 EBAY 1.5 REAR SPACER
2 EBAY UCAs
1 TOYTEC 1" BODY LIFT
4 1.5" WHEEL SPACERS
1 METABO GRINDER
4 USED 35X12.50R18
1 WEEKEND OFF WITH NICE WEATHER

What am I missing?

Get rid of the spacers, get bilsteins.

In due time my friend. This is a budget build from Hell. I intend to be in much better financial shape next year and much of this will be upgraded. I've just got to do something with this grocery getter before my head explodes! :target:

Update

Front FJ coils + spacers + shocks are in
Rear FJ coils + spacers + shocks are in (sort of, more later)
Toytec 3" front spacer (couldn't use them)
Ebay rear spacers (couldn't use them)
Ebay UCAs are in - no problem there
1.5" wheel spacers (couldn't use them)

So I tore the truck down to find:
Already had worn out poly coil spacers in the front.
Already had spacers in the rear
Already had Spidertrax wheel spacers.
The Toytec front spacers I bought are for the in-coil application, not on top of the coil.
The left rear shock stud was stripped and I lost the nut/washer/bushing.
Still working on that, may just go ahead with billies for the rear.

Oh yeah, also deleted all mud flaps and step rails.

It's been a slow process, but I'll get there eventually. Hoping to get the body lift on this week. Some pics of the last two weekends' work --->
