I'm hoping this is serious.
That controls the 4WD functions. On my particular 4 Runner that shifter allows me to change from 4-high to 4 lo or neutral. On the side of mine is the AWD function button.
Not trying to be a smartass but you bought a 4WD vehicle and if you're not sure of the functions or how to engage or disengage 4WD, you might want to read the owners manual.

I posted that due to observations from the past post on new comers.
Me personally I can take it (when posting similar myself) and laugh with others.

Reminds me of a time I was leading a group down Black Bear at the Summit a few years back. I turned off on a side trail shortcut below the falls and waited for the group while they took pictures. There was an FJ parked there that wasn't with our group. He had an ARB bumper with a winch on his vehicle so I started talking to him while I waited. He said he'd had the bumper and winch installed after getting badly stuck on a previous outing because he didn't want it to happen again. I asked him whether his ATRAC system or rear locker had helped any when he got stuck. He had NO idea what I was talking about. I told him he might want to consult his owner's manual regarding his 4-wheel drive system for future reference.

No worries. This is a great spot to learn. We can sometimes give folks a hard time but it is hard to tell it is all just in good fun until you spend more time here. Read as much as you can in the threads, read the manuals (search for them online if you don't have them), read everything twice and then ask questions and you will find lots of friendly help.

I was going to point the finger at bimrunner for doing this one, lol.
As he stated as above is a good rule, and always use the search function, usually a lot of answers are there for you.
If you don't use it, you'll probably get a lot more responses like you have already.
