Shift console lighting?

Now that the sun sets earlier and earlier in the northern region of the country, I just noticed the lack of illumination of the shift console on my (new to me) 2010 4Runner SR-5. Is this supposed to be illuminated? If so, what needs to be replaced?

Change the tiny bulb inside or do something like this;

The only thing illuminated on my 2021 is the shift indicator letters and the heated seats. I bet it's just a bulb burnt out.
