Hello,
I'm currently a Ford owner, but I'm entertaining a switch to an 03/04 4Runner. I know the 4Runner is very competent offroad, but, here in Georgia, clay is tricky business. If I did get a 4Runner I'd probably end up with 33"ish MTs and a lift to fit them.
I'm wondering how well a 4Runner with MTs would fare in soft bottom clay and 4-7" deep hard bottom clay. Also, I have a picture of a pretty crazy slope I've been looking at:
It's about 40-50 degree upward slope with a side slope of 5-10 degrees. The surface is hard packed (when dry) clay.
If anyone's interested, this is actually at Durhamtown, GA's new (less than 5 month old) 4x4 truck park. Durhamtown a big offroad playland for dirtbikes, ATVs, UTVs, 4x4s, etc near Union Point, GA. $20 entry fee for the truck park. Their old 4x4 park just got closed up because of the taxes they were having to pay, but this new park is pretty intense. Unforunately, they don't have maps of their new park up, but they keep saying they are going to have some soon. The 4x4 park also isn't too crowded these days, but the rest of Durhamtown is crazy on weekends with people using dirtbikes and ATVs. Don't worry though, the areas are separate.
Thanks for any replies.
