luckily my spare tire was out when i put my bl on. but idt you will get tht crank in above the tire w.o removing the bumper. its to long to fit between the cone and the bumper. (iv tried) lol. but good luck
 
I could just barely get the tool to line up on mine. I'd be very surprised if you're able to use the stock location with any more than a 1" BL (or you could cut a diferent hole in the body or bumper maybe, but that would suck).

Here's some PIAA mount pictures for you... its really simple. Just measured where I wanted them & drilled 2 holes in the bumper. Sorry the pictures came out a little fuzzy, but you can still see what I did with them.

So I was able to do something a little bit different. I had enough room to get above the tire and disconnect the pulley from the frame. It was only 4 bolts and came loose fairly easily.

You were right about the tool not being able to get into the cone from the stock location in the bumper. When I stuck it in the bumper hole, the tool wasn't even close. Another method for folks to try may be finding something to support the weight of the spare and then reaching your hand up over the spare to hand turn the cone which the tool is inserted into. With less weight on the pulley, it is fairly easy to hand turn. Now that the old spare is out, I've gotta figure out what to do about the new spare since the stock location isn't going to work based on the fact that it's a 33" and its 12.5" wide and would kill my departure angle.

Also, mounted my CB antenna similar to Pure98 (thanks for the mount reference!) I haven't yet found my radio, but I've been cruising Craigslist so it won't be long.

Looks good man! I think you either need an adjustable pan-hard, or the pan-hard drop bracket....it looks like it's pulled your axle over to the right side enough to be noticeable.

I didn't seal them upon install. But they're very easy to remove so I may well seal them up very soon when I aim the lights and set them in for good.

I think you are correct about the panhard drop bracket so I'm on that.

BUT with that said, my driver side rear is about .75 inches above my passenger side rear. I know that the buddy who helped me reinstalled the stock cone spacers inside the LC coils when we did the rear. For some reason I had a brain fart and forgot to tell him not to. But it's possible that I may take the driver's side or both cone spacers out to help compensate, cause right now they're just acting as coil spacers and my rake sits at about 1.5 inches if measuring my passenger side, which I would like to come down to about 1 inch of rake. I'm not sure if it is contributing to the fact that the axle looks noticeably pulled to the right, cause I wonder with the driver side dropped the extra .75 inch, would the pull be noticeable as much?...

Also, I'd like to get the drop bracket instead of the whole adjustable bar... anyone know where this is available? I googled, but only get links to forums. Sonoran only has the adjustable bar for $175, which I'd rather put towards sliders if I can save the $$$

I'll get a few more pictures tomorrow when the light is better but I was in a rush today. Don't know about anyone else, but to me there's something awesome about the smell of new tires!

Yea I'm gonna take out the stock cone spacers that we reinstalled when we did the rear. That should give me about .5-.75 inch I would expect... so we'll see.

Dunno about the hitch, I do tow stuff here and there, so it will stay on. I actually saw a guy selling a 99-02 4runner hitch that had been professionally modified for a 2in BL. It's not on Craigslist anymore but I may see if I can track down the guy & talk him down. He wanted $150 for it at the time.
 
Nice! I see you painted the LC coils and even put the color codes back on them! Nice touch!

I left the stock cone spacers in... I would recommend it, you will still settle some over the next week or so.

Yep, sanded them down, put tape over the color code dots, and Duplicolor paint from Advance Auto. And, I'm gonna see how it sits after I install the panhard drop and then make a decision on the cone spacers... probably will end up leaving them and adjusting the front up even more

thats the way to go, thats what I did... thank goodness for the adjustable coilovers! :biggrin2:
 
I've been lurking for a while. Even lurked when I had my Tacoma.
