Castrol 5W30 Syn Blend for $1 @ Autozone

I called my local autozone and the knucklehead behind the desk was a tool.. I asked him about if they would price match it from the online store and the answer was No.. even if the price was on there website..

Good job autozone. that's why I go to Napa or car quest for all my parts.. they can take that oil and shove it.

this is the same problem I had when diamondback firearms had a issue on their end.. everything in store was marked 40% off.. and the system crashed. I placed my order for my upper on the 29th of last month and guess what.. it still haven't showed up.. I had place ammo this morning from sgammo and they shipped it out already.. on to of that, the guy on the other end didn't help.. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks out before is going to ship and that was beginning of the month... is almost x-mas and I still haven't received my uppers..

Same here, cancelled this morning. 100 qt order. I am beyond pissed. I already had boycotted AZ for past experiences that were borderline fraud on their part... this is no surprise but I feel we are all due more than a $20 gift card.

The reason I'm so pissed my order got cancelled was that I actually talked to a an Autozone rep on the phone and he confirmed that my order DID process. He was telling me bunch of people were ordering multiple orders of 100 quarts.

i feel like they accepted payment and processed the payment to me is like a contract to purchase. we all should gather and do something about this!!!
Very bad ethics on Autozone for sure!!! the least they could do is offer to fulfill the order with another suitable replacement oil.

I am not an Attorney, and I am not defending AutoZone. I've just seen the mention of a lawsuit on other boards too.

Those that are knowledgeable in legal matters, have stated that as long as you are not charged, or your money is returned in a timely manner, which from what I'm seeing it has been or will be, there is no legal recourse.

Also from what I'm seeing online, is that those that placed large orders, are getting a $20.00 gift card for the inconvenience. I'd be happy with getting something for nothing, other than a little aggravation, and move on.

When this deal hit, it spread across the Internet very quickly. Thousands of people on thousands of Websites started ordering large quantities of oil. It was predictable that the demand would far outstrip the supply.

That deal could have saved me $400+ on oil changes since I bought 99 quarts. Sounds about the price of a used e-locker? That's why!!!

Autozoner employee chiming in..

Someone or some computer had made a huge pricing blunder with multiple different oils. I've had a few customers come in and pick up loads of the $1 deals. I dont know what happened but I took advantage of it too.

I just ordered 12. Nice find; weird deal. I wonder if they just fired "the wrong guy"

Pretty funny! If I had a real house where I could store stuff, I'd have done the same thing.

They also have Kendall SynBlend 10w-30 and 5w-30 for $1.00 each.

Yeah, there were a few diff oils on sale for a $1.. good for customers, not autozone or the guilty individual

Several people on another board have posted pictures of the oil they bought for $1.00 per quart, in AutoZone stores.

Here's one person's haul:

I bought 40 quarts of Mobil 1 @ $1.00 per quart, myself. I probably could have found more, but it will take several years to use the oil I bought, as is.

Also, I like to think I have better things to do with my time besides driving all over the State, buying motor oil to hoard.
