I have a cobra 29. And I can't seem to find anywhere convenient to mount it. Anybody got pictures or any ideas

That thing is HUGE, you need a trailer to haul it in! LOL
Seriously, I use Cobra 25 in my other rigs, motor home and LandCruiser, but I don't see enough room in my 4runner for even THAT. At least not in a clean orderly fashion.

It is pretty big lol. I just like it cause it's got a built in swr meter. And I know how to take it apart and tune it. It's all ready to go. I just need a place to mount it.

I'd get rid of that behemoth and go find a small Uniden. It will fit where the ashtray goes with very little modification and only about 40.00.
this behemoth has more nice features then smaller ones do.

With a large CB, on the dash board, above the clock and air vents might be a good place. The only issue I could think of is the sun beating down on it all day might cause it to warp or fall apart but I do not know for sure.

I have a picture of a good mount for a 29, purchased my pedestal mount off of ebay (11.95) its been the best way to mount a cb so far, I think I have pic in my garage let me look for i t

Cobra 29 is definitely pretty big for a convenient mount. I've got a 5th gen and run a Connex, but space restrictions seem similar in most all t4r's. I ended up building a box (similar to a sub box construction) and mounting the rig and an external speaker in that. Added a loop to secure it to the seatbelt and can move it from the front seat to the back depending on when/how I use it.
Not particularly ideal but it keeps the radio protected, easy to remove, but still usable when needed. Just a thought as there's not too many folks running fullsize CB's.

How important is the stuff in your glovebox? For me, the factory manual, insurance card, and gum wrapper was easily relocated to the center console and I gained back 1/2 the dash.

Good point! I honestly don't have anything in mine besides my winch remote, manual, and registration/insurance info. Thanks for taking the guess work out of finding a home for mine when the time comes. :rockon:
