change my weak horn

Just for the record, 01-02 4runner horns have some balls on them if you want an oem option. Won't make anyone shit themselves but it does sound like a proper horn.
 
My Stock 00' horn are loud and truck like.

tho if you really wanna have a loud horn.... i am a railfan... just get yourself a K5LA Horn hehehehe (search youtube for them hehe xD)
 
The 2010 Trail horn sounds like the round runner is constistipated. Can anyone provide a link for a "man horn" I can buy and have my mechanic install?

What is plug and play?

You asking what horns are plug and play or what plug and play is? Plug and play essentially means anyone can install it and there is no modification or complex wiring needed. You can probably use existing horn wires and existing horn mounts.

Several people already have provided links.

If you can unplug a wire from each horn, turn a bolt and plug the wire onto a new horn you shouldn't need a mechanic. At least give it a try.:cheers:
 
The plug and play definition was confusing when I was researching ALL the previous posts about horns...as referenced by another poster. I'd like to be minimally evasive as possible when replacing the current set up. The dealer was adamant nothing existed. Thank you for the explanation.
 
Cadillac 1994 4notes horns

Hi!

I want to replace the stock horns on my 1998 4Runner by 4 Cadillac horns (4 notes) using the stock connection. My question is, I need to perform some changes or only attach two Cadillac horns per each stock horn using an splitter in each out stock? I will appreciate your help. Thanks

You might need more power going to the horns then what is provided by the stock wires. Either just run 2 or consider rewiring with a larger wire.

Running that many, wiring it up to a relay and getting your power directly from the battery probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Super simple to do with a diagram like this:

Do you grok db? It's not a linear progression, every 3db roughly doubles the amplitude. If Hellas are 4db louder than yours, they're more than twice as loud.

Thanks, Twan! I have two more questions,

1) the cables that connect my actual 4runner horns (the stock wires to horn) will be connected to the Relay 86 input (as per your diagram)?
2) Is necessary run another cable from the Relay 87 output to the other 2 cadillac horns or I could split one cable in 4 way?

Yes to both. You just need the signal from your stock horn wiring at terminal 86 to tell the relay to send power to terminal 87. There shouldn't be a problem running four wires from that one connector, since probably the hardest part would be fitting four twisted wires into one spade connector.
