Changing nav software, can it be done?

I was wondering if anyone has succeeded in changing the navigation software in a 2014 factory unit? I have Igo Primo in another one of my trucks and I like that navigation software much better.

I troll these forums often and have not seen anything of that sort be mentioned. Your best best may be to try other Toyota/Lexus forms to see if anyone has done it but I wouldn't expect to find much. Good luck and if you do manage a change please post back results

I'm just learning how to use the navigation in my 2014 TE, and today I set up all of the destination locations that I have on my Garmin GPS. I created a couple routes and it came up identical in mileage and time on the four multi-point trips that I created.

I don't know who makes the Toyota navigation, could it be a Garmin unit? I was a little worried about the Toyota system, and plan on running both at least at the beginning of my next cross country trip, hopefully I can get to the point where my GPS will be put in the console and used as an emergency backup.

I'll see what I can find out on my own. So far I've found the GPS to be annoying, primitive, and counter intuitive. It's sad that the chepo Hong Kong $162 head unit for my Dad's truck is much less annoying than this one. No speed lockouts, etc.

Have to agree. During a test drive last week I was playing with it while the wife was driving. I could not figure out how to set a destination point. Got there eventually, but not easily.

I wish they'd allow the screen to be used as a display only and let a phone or other device provide the brains.
