Cheap 4th gen snorkel option from Australia

Did you had to use a heat gun at all ? Also did you notice looss of power at the top end? It feels like my truck lost some. But since I used a heat gun, i think that i squeeshed inner diameter of the pipe to the point that it created a partial restriction

I didn't use a heat gun at all, I actually thought of using it to straighten the head of the snorkel but kinda of grew on me. Lots of friends had issues with branches breaking there's except me so I left it that way.

Try pushing snorkel head bit harder so it wont have that incline.

Not at all, I'd does make intake sound alot better when I floor it. [emoji23]

Have somebody rev it and put your hand or a plastic bag over the snorkel head to see if there is suction.

Ok, so its not as bad as i thought initially.
To compensate for a different fender I got a door seal from amazon, also i bought 3,5 inch intermediate pipe and 90degree elbows instead of squeeshed piece that comes in a kit, also amazon, dirt cheap. Also if anyone get this kit, make sure that after gluing door seal between snorkel and fender you tighten bottom nuts first. Then it will align nicely.

But i will take it down again in a month or so when those silicone elbows show up. I think engine is choking on that intermediate pipe.

mine has been lying around in the store for awhile. tried installing it today, realized i need a hole saw.
the kit i received appears a lil different from yours, or is it an improved design?.

gluing the door seal, you talked about, am a lil confused, so you had to glue something again, what type of glue did you use?

am about ordering a 95mm hole saw, so i can start the ops. any final tips you can give me?.

So the rubber seal has a 3m sticky tape already. I glued that to seal around the base of a snorkel to stop water accessing drilled sections of a fender and to hide gap between fender and snorkel. Oh, don't use heat gun I tried and had to purchase another main pipe. Make sure that you align the pipe and mark where the bolt holes are gonna be and the main pipe hole.
What may happen, after bolting a snorkel, it will take few days before main pipe will start flexing/adjusting to fender and a-pillar curves, so I suggest to tighten snorkel just snug at first, drive few days, then tighten all the way for best fit. I didn't drill a pillar, just trimmed the black metal bracket and bolted it to snorkel pipe only and glued a piece of rubber seal between a bracket and a pillar to stop pipe rubbing on paint.

Safari now makes a vehicle specific snorkel for the 4th gens: V6= SS445HF and V8= SS440HF.

It's not worth the headache of adapting one to our trucks anymore.

I did not use this part, i bought aluminium short pipe for better flow and 2 more 90 degree flex silicone hoses.

I got mine a while back from amazon, cant find a link anymore. It was a 95mm pilot hole saw i think. I can tell you for sure on sat when i get to the shop.

I use Lenox brand hole saws daily professionally, none better IMHO.
