It looks like it will fit in place of the old square tray just fine. Pre '97s had cup holders on the dash.

I like how your keeping things simple. I need to find me a really nice priced rig to build, I find them all the time just never pull the trigger... I do like were this is headed whats next

Thanks! I like my stuff to be simple and work well. Hopefully, you can find a 5 speed!
Here is my mostly compete list of things to do at the moment: (in no order)
Tacoma Whip Antenna- not a big issue because the power one is stuck up and still works
Paint both bumpers black including the front grill- this spring when it warms up
Peel off the plasti-dip on the wheels and paint them dark gray or black
Driver's seat- pending sale EDIT: all new seats!
I need one more hub cap
Fuel filter- need to order one soon EDIT: not doing it
Spark plug wires- need to order some. I am getting black Denso ones, so I won't have those hideous blue NGKs anymore! EDIT:ORDERED; DONE!
If I get into wheeling a lot, I will do extended diff breathers- I won't for now
Front mud flaps- from junkyard pickup or 1st gen 4Runner EDIT: homemade ones
Driver's seat belt- from junkyard- not in a hurry EDIT: it's fine
Clean passenger seat belt EDIT: all cleaned
Shift knob- I will be making an 8 Ball one soon EDIT:ORDERED; DONE!
Steering wheel
5-star wheels if I can find them for cheap- not in a hurry
Sunroof motor- mine works if I tap on it
An extra roof rack cross bar or two for a camping platform

Paint Plans
Paint Plans (in the spring)
Bumpers: Take them off and paint the insides with rusty metal primer first
Chrome: (graphite)
Sand, clean with acetone, Primer , Paint , no clear coat
Plastic: (gloss black)
Sand, clean with alcohol, Primer , Paint , no clear coat
Keep the rear plastic stock
Wheels: (graphite)
Try to peel off plastidip, take off wheel weights, wire brush, clean with acetone, tape off tires and valve stems, Primer , Paint , Clear Coat
The plan is to look like 'Ol Blue except for the graphite wheels.
If anyone has comments or suggestions on the paint plan, feel free to post away

Two- Low Switch/ ISR Mod/ PCV Filter
First of all, here is the switch I put in for the ADD. It is a simple interrupter for the yellow wire under the truck. I routed the wires through the shifter hole in the floor.
I did my ISR mod today. I used a pipe off an old leaf blower. Hopefully it holds up. I got a tee for $2 and made a new hose for the vacuum line. The total cost for my ISR and "Deckplate" mod is a whole $7!
I also added in a filter ($5) after the PCV valve. I also replaced the hose- it was cracked and clogged up.
I still have an oil leak somewhere. Next time I'm under the truck, I'm going to check the oil pan bolts to make sure they are tight.

Thanks! I was looking around for anything to use and it was the perfect size. I just hope it doesn't melt :shocked:
I got the filter at advance auto in the lawn mower filter stuff. In our store it was across from the vacuum hoses and fittings.

Good News! I am probably getting Tacoma manual hubs, spindles, and CV axles in the near future! The CV axles and wheel bearings are only 4 months old too. He's asking $300 for all- I think this is a fair price.
I also got some cool stuff for Christmas! I got some Denso spark plug wires, an antenna splitter cable, an 8-ball that I am in the process of drilling right now, LED strips, jumper cables, and a lot of tools I didn't have.
The ISR pipe made a huge difference in acceleration! (and it sounds cool)

Off-Roading Fun!
Had some fun last night... I went to visit my troop and Order of the Arrow buddies at the local scout reservation last night. On our way to a site, my friend told me the wrong directions and ended up going down a gravel road that turned into a dirt road that then went into a field. It was pretty wet and the tires did great going up a few rises. I really need to do something with my hitch because I hit it on a rock while backing up. That thing is soooooo low! When I pulled up next to my scoutmaster's truck, he had a worried look on his face... There was around 3 inches of mud where we were. His truck had been stuck for two days and was afraid I was going to be too when I backed out. He has a 2WD Dodge 1500 with no weight in the back. I put it in low range, let the clutch out and I didn't spin out at all lol. I was going to pull him out, but nobody had a tow strap.
I'm pretty disappointed with my '99 springs in the rear. The hitch hauler with some scrap metal on it scraped in our driveway when pulling in. Around 2-3 inches of my chain on the hitch was dragging. It usually has about an inch of clearance.

Plastidip Emblems/ Toolbox/ Storage Compartment Enlargment
Lots of updates!

I mounted my Grandpa's old toolbox in the back with some eye bolts and a ratchet strap. I also added handles on the sides. I have tools, a chair, change of clothes, bungee cords, and other random supplies in there.
I deleted the box in the side panel and sound deadened the entire area. I did it on both sides of the rear including over the fender well arches. In the storage compartment, I can fit a blanket, a gallon jug of coolant, a quart of brake fluid, and a quart of 10W-30. It's an awesome free mod.

On Tuesday, she turned over to 250,000! I can't wait 'till 500,000!
I installed some "Type R" lol Amazon LEDs in the back. They are super bright and only cost $7 for 4 of them. We might put the other 2 in my dad's '04.

Frame Paint/ Hitch Flip
When I took off the hitch, I noticed a little of surface rust on the seams of the frame. The axle was also rusty in places. I wire wheeled the rust an painted with Rustoleum.
I copied 4Running Daily and flipped the hitch. We marked the lines with tape and cut the bumper with the sawzall. We then bent up the metal with the jack and me jumping on the bumper. It looks great and I gained 3" of ground clearance for free.

I have my exhaust upgrade planned out. I will be doing it sometime in May 2019. I need three feet of this and two of these . The total price should be around $16. This will be my cheap straight pipes with my stock 2.25" tubing. I'll probably secure the flex pipe with some bailing wire or something. This spring, I'm going to sand blast the pipes and paint them flat black like the Walker stuff I have on now.
