Chudiddy- Inferno TRD PRO Build

Did first 2 mods over the weekend. First I replaced all the interior lights to LED. That was quite simple to do. Huge difference. Got the LEDs from this ebay buyer: 13 Pcs Deluxe White LED Lights Interior Package Kit for 2003 2012 Toyota 4Runner | eBay

Next I took the OEM Running boards off and replaced them with the NFAB Nerf Bar Steps. I used part number T1464R and it fit like a glove. No problems whatsoever and install for both sides literally took 10 minutes. Looks so much better IMO. I got them from this ebay seller:

I must have lucked out bc I had them in my watch list for a few weeks and they were priced at $279.99 shipped. I got them on the last day of the auction and noticed the price increase the next day to $360.99. Not that great of a deal anymore.

Next mods coming:

Get the front windows tinted this Thursday. I am only going 35% which is what I do on all my cars. I don't like it super dark and 35% is perfect to me.

Gobi Stealth Rack is in transit and should be here later this week. I am hoping to install that and all the Rigid LED's this weekend. We'll see how things pan out.

The only thing it does not need is that chrome rack, and I see you're fixing that too.

Yeah that and the chrome emblems in the back while everything else is blacked out. Doesn't make sense. I'll be dipping those soon.

Great choice in cars/trucks.....had a loaded APR S4 a few years ago but got rid of it as my kids just ripped apart the interior due to sports, etc....Audi's and dirty soccer players don't mesh well....welcome and enjoy

Hey guys, new to the forum. Got a black TRDP on order that's suposed to be ready for pickup in a couple weeks. Anywho, did you have the paint protection done somewhere or did you do it yourself?

They have everything you would needto do the paint correction and sealing yourself. I am going to use the Optimum Gloss Coat. There are lots of others on ther too one is diamond something. I cant exactly remeber but it is up there like the Optimum Gloss caot. Anyways, take a look it may be a better option than having someone else do it. Example: for me to coat my 4runner will cost me $100 in produt that will cover all thepainted areas and the rims, i will probably spend anpther $60 for the glas to make sure it is hydophobic. Good luck.

A few more mods added this past week. I got the windows tinted 35% and I think it matched pretty well. I also added the Husky Weatherbeater floor liners and cargo mat as well as Weathertech rain guards. I'll post some updated pics in a little bit.

I was also able to install an HID kit. At first I purchased these LED lights from Amazon. Upon installation, I come to find that there are dust covers that need to be removed to access the bulbs. After removing them and trying to install the bulbs, they didn't fit. I gave up on it because even if I got them installed, I knew I wouldn't be happy not having the dust covers on.

I ended up installing an HID kit that I had from a previous car that was sitting in my garage. I was able to retain the dust covers and maintained a pretty clean install. Here are some pics of what I did.

Here is the dust cover that unscrews to access the bulbs:

I drilled a small pilot hole and enlarged it to feed the wiring through. My HID kit had a grommet already which was quite convenient.

Here is the finished result. Looks clean and maintained the dust covers which was important to me.

Overall happy with the light output. I have PIAA Ion yellows that I am putting in tonight. I've always had yellow fogs and love the look of them.

My Gobi Rack should be here today so I will hopefully get to install that sometime this week. Stay tuned!​

I ended up installing an HID kit that I had from a previous car that was sitting in my garage. I was able to retain the dust covers and maintained a pretty clean install. Here are some pics of what I did.

After your inquiries last week on mine, I also came to the conclusion that I did not want to run the risk of no dust covers to make the LED lighting work...plus, this weekend was my first extended drive away from the city lights and I was none-to-impressed with the LED output in these projectors vs. their excellent performance in my past GMC. Swapped them out for now with standard Silverstar Ultras and surprisingly much improved....especially in combo with the yellow-tinted fogs. May investigate standard HIDs in the future but I'm pretty satisfied with it now.

(Note: While my Oracle LED lights fit without a problem in the housing, the connections to the driver units are simple pin DIN cables which don't include a rubber grommet like my past HID kits have. I could have fab'd one up if I would have been satisfied with the light output but decided it wasn't worth the trouble. May have to investigate the HID route again in the future but for now satisfied and moving on to the more important stuff.)

I installed the rack last night with the help of a friend and it took us about 3 hours total. I have to install the fairing yet and will do that tonight. Overall, it came out exactly as I envisioned it. I absolutely love the Gobi Stealth rack and can't speak enough about it. Anyone on the fence, just go get it. I had it on my 4th gen and although i thought it looked badass on that, it looks even better on my TRDP. I was a little hesitant on putting the ladder on but I did and holy crap it looks badass. I went with a Rigid 40" RDS Curved LED Bar and 2 6" SR light bars in the rear (putting those on tonight).

As far as the hatch struts, they def will need to be upgraded to heavy duty ones. Luckily I had ordered those the same time I ordered the rack. I'll be putting those on tonight as well.

So overall, I'm really happy with the build and quality of the Gobi Stealth. Here are a few teaser pics for now. Ill post more once I get the fairing and the rear lights on. Enjoy!!

Ok, the Gobi Rack is complete. I finished installing the fairing last night and also mounted the rear lights. Now I just need to wire them. Total time for rack was about 3 hours but that was because I took my time to make sure everything was right. I applied anti-seize to all the bolts, I also applied a 3 inch strip of 3M Paint Protection strip across the top where the fairing meets the roof.

Now its time to enjoy my rig. I have all but 200 miles on it so far and I realized I did all the current mods before even getting through my first full tank. LOL, talk about not wasting any time. So far about a dozen or so people have stopped dead in their tracks to comment and commend me on my truck. It's funny watching Jeep owners practically break their neck trying to catch a glimpse of me as I drive by. I absolutely love this rig.

Nothing too major in terms of mods coming up, still have to wire the lights as I mentioned. I have another Rigid 28" LED bar that I planned on putting behind the bumper but now I am second guessing that decision. I also have a set of Rigid D2's in Amber that I also want to put in as well as a set of rock lights for underneath. My friend is installing a remote start and will help me wire up all my lights. After that, not too much is planned. Enjoy more iPhone pics for now. A proper photo shoot will take place once the weather breaks.
