Nice! I'm debating on dropping $1k for a lift kit... but I don't feel good about it.

Long-arm kits ain't cheap...
I got my spartan and CL 4.88 3rd in. And also the '93 4.88 ifs swapped in. Thanks Hyde for the tip on knocking out those splined cv studs. Now just gonna get some sliders.

try getting 5" of lift, all adjustable control arms, two track bars/ panhard bars (well... you don't need one for IFS lol) springs, shocks and the other crap for at or below $1k for a Toyota. The OME 2" lift was what, $6-800? I can't remember.
it is cheaper... I just want to spend more money on it. haha.
Nah I didn't do long arms...not something I'm interested in.

My front axle is still torn apart - waiting for a few more parts so I can mod the housing for the new elocker. Then I get to put it all back together...

Looking more and more like we may be back in time to hook up with you guys. We're shooting to be in Katy, Texas for the 17-20/21 of April..trying to convince the g/f that this is a trip we need to make.
How would it work if I just showed up? Do I need to commit 100% beforehand or can I just stroll in and crash your party?

Honestly not sure... but KidV would be the one to ask. Would be great to have more coming.
Also by my math... the my Jeep is a first gen Grand and there's like 4 gens now... so it's a classic. Haha.

Looks like a fairly capable 2nd gen!!
It's starting to look more and more like I am going to be out for this trip. I'm not going to miss Talan's last recital and I just don't think I can pull off leaving earlier in the week. I'm super bummed. I've been way excited for this trip and now to have it yanked out from under me leaves a hell of a rug burn

Not much more I can say about the truck than that, wanted to have more done before I left...sliders bumpers etc...but ran out of time. I tell ya though, I've put this thing through hell on this trip and she's held up...love this truck.
As for me ya you could say I'm experienced. I've been wheeling for years all over Ontario and BC, always looking to learn and do more - aren't we all? - Moab has been on my list for years and I can't believe that this might time out just perfectly coming back from Central America.
