Yeah it wouldnt have mattered anyway. I figured out the night before I was leaving that it was too long. Like at 7pm. Finished it and an alignment at 10pm and went home so I could pack in the morning. Still managed about 100 miles (up to 60mph...) and 2.5 trails on that shaft. Frustrated that I had no penetration on it though. Ill have to peek at the machine and see if the settings got bumped. Welds sure sat taller than on the practice piece. Ill either sleeve or get an XJ shaft.
Andrew, I didnt get to say bye to Justin. Please give him my thanks. I really appreciate his help and look forward to meeting up again. Excellent spotter. I owe him for sure.
Im sure I probably kept us from a trail or two with my issues.... I hope that wasnt a huge disappointment. Look forward to next time!

Nope, not at all. I was really impressed how you handled yourself this week. It always sucks to be the "new" guy at something, having to learn everything from scratch. You made lots of progress this week in finding out what you and your rig are capable of. Let's get out some more soon.

.Edit: I was thinking... I probably left about 20-30 minutes after you did. Then I stopped in Price for gas. Surprised I caught up and passed you. Never went over the speed limit. Soldier summit area was sketchy.. wet roads and I didnt reconnect up front. Tire was chewing my bumper on right turns at about 60...

Mike you are most welcome. I do not mind helping where I can and shearing my knowledge when its needed.
I left moab tonight at 8 pm after hells revenge. It was a blast and a very good day. I almost rolled over backwards on hells gate on my second run up it. The popping in my front axle is a worn out lock right giving up. It was good to meet and wheel with some of you guys. Bill I hope u get the sammi back up soon. Mike if you need help welding the drive line let me know I can weld it at work and reinforce it as well.

looks like you boys had a good weekend! sorry i couldn't join you, we were camped about 40 miles north of town at dewey bridge so we only made it to moab 1x for gas. we ran metal masher on sat and top of the world on sunday before we rolled out. i'll try to get some pics up on my build thread. my bro did awesome on the planning, i can't think of a better way to do a bachelor party! i could have lived without the wind and rain but even that can't ruin moab

Wish I could have met up with you guys, looks like it was a blast. We rolled in late yesterday morning, had a few too many pops with some people we met at Rabbit Valley the night before...
Hung out in Arches for the afternoon yesterday, and managed to get out and run Seven Mile Rim this morning before we left...I'll definitely be coming back the next time a meet is planned.
Keep those pics coming I wanna see what I missed!!

Kevin-I enjoyed watching your boy throw rocks, mud and be a kid...
AJ-I love your home brew design built to get the job done,,which it did forwards and backwards
Mike-I can't did the solid axle, but everything else:/. Jk Thanks for being into the lens so much and taking so many pics, can't wait to see
Bill and the Mrs.- Fun to watch you take that Zuki places i was concerned about myself on and I now ant a cast iron skillet too.
Andrew-Thanks a lot for leading and being a tour guide do such, helping to keep us oriented, spotting, helping with extraction recovery etc.
Justin-Man I'm glad you were there on my first group outing. Not only with a heavily built rig but it was a good experience someone remain calm and able to help in all the different scenarios presented in the two days. From the fantastic tire repair to the final pull of the jeep out of a muddy kane creek it was a good learning experience as well.
Nick-Thanks a million for the fantastic spotting everywhere I required. I believe it's of invaluable importance to have someone spot you that not only knows the line but knows the capabilities and eccentricities of your rig and driver.

Good times fellas! Lots of great pictures being posted so far.
I haven't had a chance to even get mine off the camera. Chris and I drove back to Durango in a blizzard on Sat night, then went fishing the next day. Since I got home, I've done nothing but play with my Daughter (we built our first "Fort" today) and catch up with the Mrs.
How was the weather in camp on Sat night? Judging by what we drove through on the way back, I figured it may have been kinda nasty.
