clock staying on

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone would know why or should the clock stay lit up when i turn the ignition off. My ignition switch already has an issue where i can pull the key out of it in any position. Does this sound like an ignition key barrel problem or the rear electrical connector issue. thanks in advance

My guess is that your not really shutting the truck off, but leaving the key in the ACC position and pulling the key out thinking its off.

Do you have a radio in the truck? Is it staying on too?

Make sure you press the little black button on top of the steering column and put the key in the "off" position.

Thanks for the input. I am aware of the black button turn back. The funny thing is that i have done that befor and the battery usually died within 24 hrs. It's been 3days and the battery is fine

Sounds like the key switch isnt fully off.
