Clunk/twang in Brake Pedal?

Occasionally, I feel a single clunk/twang in the brake pedal. Like something hitting it internally. Doesn't affect the braking at all. It doesn't happen everytime but often enough. Is anybody experiencing this? Any idea what it might be? Thanks!

I have the same thing. "Twang" is a good name for the sound. Happens when I shift from reverse to drive. I was going to ask the service guys when i take it in for 5k service in a week or 2.

Anyone else know what the sound is.

I notice mine when braking. I'll see if it does it when shifting into drive.

I get it when I put my foot on the brake during start up and when I get on the brakes any quicker or harder than "normal". My only complaint with my 4R is these brakes, they feel weak and sound strange as well as really vibrate when the ABS kicks in. I know the ABS vibes are normal but it feels like mine kick in way early.

It's simply the ABS, mines does it too. My 07 Tahoe did the same thing now and then but my 4runner does it all the time.

Would ABS do it at low speeds and slight braking? I didn't think ABS kicked in in those situations?

Driving around a few more days and it still does. It doesn't happen when shifting into gear. It seems like it truly happens randomly. Today it happened when I was at a stand still with my foot on the brake. Looks like I'll have to take a trip to the dealer.

I've searched quite a bit on this. It's not the "wet shoe" hiss sound. This is a clunk/twang in the pedal. It's completely random when it happens. It could be light braking or moderate or hard braking. It happens moving. It happens at a complete standstill. It's like there's a gremlin with a small rubber hammer hitting the brake pedal. Strange. Had nothing like this with my 3rd gen.
