damn, that looks fairly new...exedy has always done me well for an oe style clutch. stay away from the cheap ebay clutches...xtd, txr, and the others or this will/ may happen again....ask me how I know!?

maybe clutchmasters if they make one..may get pricey

oh also, you may go unsprung too...so you dont have to worry about those little guys....i have gone that route too and had the center pop out..just go with a reputable brand.

In anything I had making 300+hp would destroy sprung setups. I was always happier with a 3 puck unsprung. Grab hard and can handle some abuse.

Those this is an update to my clutch adventure. If like me you try to be savy and save as much money as possible this might help. I ordered my replacement clutch from Amazon back in Oct. 2015. Being that it has been under a year Amazon is honoring the 12,000mile/12month Warranty. On top of that I asked about my mechanic fees. Amazon sent me a link to input the information to recieve reimbursement for the new mechanic fee's I will incure because of this. They have been very prompt in replying to my e-mails usually a couple hours. This is my first experiance in dealing with a complex issue like this. So I can say I am satisfied with the experiance so far. If everything works right I will get an upgraded clutch (Marlin Crawler HD) with only $200 dollars more than what i origianlly paid for my clutch. Thanks for everyones advice and help and putting up with a newbie.

Seriously they reimburse the mechanic fees?

I'm amazed anyone does that on a clutch. No warranty covers clutches that I've ever seen. I will do the same when my supercharger eats the exedy I installed haha.

Clutch replacement

I went with an LCE dual comp at the suggestion of Marlin. Marlin was out of the HD clutches and didn't have a date when they would have them again.

The dual comp is great. A little grabby but I've only had it in about 300miles. I was told the supercharger with mods would eventually fry the OE clutch....

I used to be an e-bay guy but 90% of my purchases are Amazon now. Prices are usually cheaper, amazing return policy & "free shipping" if you're a Prime member.

This is the e-mail I got back from Amazon...I was in disbelief myself.

Hello,

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience caused with your return.

I completely understand your disappointment. That's definitely something we don't want our customers to experience.

To help you with this, I've requested a prepaid return mailing label for "EXEDY 16087 OEM Replacement Clutch Kit" at no cost. Please follow the link below to find instructions and a prepaid mailing label for returning your item:

If clicking on the link doesn't work, please make sure you're signed into the account you used to place the order. After you're signed in, try clicking it again or copying and pasting it into your browser's address window.

If you haven't opened the package you're returning, it's okay to tape the Return Merchandise Authorization to the outside of the package along with the mailing label.
Don't worry; packing slips aren't required to make a return.

If you don't have a printer, you may want to ask a friend or family member to print the label for you. Also, public libraries usually have computers and printers you can use--often free of charge. If you're unable to print the label, please contact us and let us know:

Also I understand that you have to pay a mechanic again to install a new clutch. To help compensate for the inconvenience, please write back the mechanic fee using the link below so that we'll reimburse for mechanic fee immediately.

Please visit the following link to provide the information we requested:

One of the benefits we try very hard to offer our customers is convenience. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced.

We look forward to see you again soon.

We'd appreciate your feedback. Please use the links below to tell us about your experience today.

I picked up my 4 Runner Jan. 2015 for $5500 and it had less than 200,000 miles. The supercharger was already on and they guy I bought it from didn't know anything about it. Being a newbie I don't know anything either, not even sure if it has the 7th Injector or if it is even working right. I just read up on it all tonight.

Just saw your in Oregon, haha. I'm headed down there tomorrow for some UFC party festivities. Any chance you have aftermarket stuff you want to sell, message me. If it's anything I could use I'll bring cash. :)

Back to your clutch, that's pretty amazing for YOU. Pretty stupid on their part if this is leaked/discovered by the wrong people. It's a frictional item. It's just such a tough item to offer full liability on. Especially just as a vendor, I paid $150? for my Exedy clutch. Return label for freight is what, $30ish, plus another unit, PLUS 6-8 hours of labor at a shop?

Crazy...

Sorry nothing for sale.

I am just telling it how it is happening. It falls under the manufacture warranty for being free of defect for 12 months. So with that I think that is where it is going with. As far as the mechanic part, I just mentioned it in my e-mail to amazon. More or less venting my frusteration. We will see if they come through but I have had great customer satisfaction with Amazon.
