COB's 4Runner Timeline (Pic Heavy)

All is looking good buddy. I have neglected T4R for sometime but I'm still kicking. I sold my mk4 earlier this year and picked up an ISF to curb my speed addiction.

It has for the most part and with recent developments in the aftermarket world I've been kicking the idea of supercharging it.

The problem with that is I will not be able to purchase a TTR mk3 import :( so I'm very torn at the moment.

Glad to see you stuck with the 7M. I enjoyed my 7M and all of it's torquey glory!!

All of your builds look great man keep it up!

Glad to see you're still around. Hadn't seen you in awhile. I clicked through all your build threads last night too. You've got several beautiful rigs.

I can't believe I read the entire build thread. You have some talent and skills. Great work and sweet 4R! I'm glad to see you are still around after a few years. Subscribed.

Wednesday afternoon to Thursday night. Text me when you get out there!

I called and texted but hardly any signal out there :(

Nice work on the trans, Marlin is the way to go.

Hey man, thanks. Marlin is the shit!

It was slowly getting worse over a year so, but I switched to Redline this past summer and it made it shift a lot better, but not perfect

Well that's good at least! The Marlin guy at KOH told me that the 96+ R150's have 3 piece synchros... sounds like a pain in the ass.

Your MK4 is gone? I has a sad! My MK4 is the best car that ever happened to me.

The supercharger is nice, but the price to power gain ratio is less than satisfying. A TTR 1JZ/R154 would surely take my vote! I think I would just about have to hate you, if you imported one :)

The MK3 is a great car and the 7M in the bay makes it feel right, but, should I ever get sick of it, the MK3 will get a 2JZ and the 7M will go in my 1st gen 4Runner. I love the 2JZ enough that I might just swap one into this 99 4Runner someday.

Thanks man, good to see you here! Get that TTR!

Hey Unner, good to hear from you. Yeah, I don't post much, but I lurk here and there. I remember reading that you moved a while back, are you still away from your MK3?

Thanks man.

Hey there! I can't believe you read all that, either! lol.

Thanks man, much appreciated. I'll be posting more soon, hopefully, now that I can drive the truck again.

Damn, I didn't get anything. Oh well. I ended up leaving Thursday around 2 pm to get back to school. I'll text you next time I'm back in CA!

I spend most of my time here now vs Supramania, but I lurk there occasionally too. I'm back with it now, but I hardly drive it. I'm usually too busy to get her out of the garage when the 4Runner is easily accessible. I need to get her out some time though and just drive it around. There's a new one near me with the same color, trim, wheels, everything. Looks really clean too.

Sounds good man, see you around. One of these days, they've gotta put a cell tower for AT&T and not just Verizon. Glad you had fun!

SM is a pretty slow forum to follow, so I can see why you're mainly here now. SF is perforated with dicks (ex: wreckless, f*** that guy).

I completely agree with the ease of just hopping in the 4Runner, I do the same! Thus, the MK3 sits most of the time. I wish you were local, a couple clean MK3's driving around would be awesome!

A picture of your MK3 alongside that other one you've been seeing would be sweet, since they're so similar.

KOH 2017 trip pictures!

Covered up the Supra, stuck the Limited in the driveway where my 99 was, and loaded up the trailer.

Super jealous of your driveway. So many cool things there that I want..

Also KOH looked sweet. I hope to get out there for it one day!

Otherwise, as always, the rig is looking good. I love that shot of the mud on your license plate.

Awesome pics! Your lady is a good sport!!
Thanks! She most definitely is, that could have ended a lot worse! lol

hahahahaha now that's funny!
Haha, her life after KOH = :washing:

my wife would prob kill me

LOL, thanks, she is a good sport. We all got a good laugh.

Thanks for all the nice words, man. There used to be a member on this board with a black 3rd gen and a black MKIV Supra, for years I drooled over those pictures. Now I'm a believer that someday, it could happen!

CO to CA is a hell of a drive, but if you live and breathe dirt, KOH is the event for you.

Time warp back to my senior year of high school. I had a friend named Max who was really into cars. He found himself working for Energy Suspension and recently got in touch with me over some R&D.

The Energy R&D guys built every kit for the 3rd gen 4Runner using one of their employee's 2000 4Runner. Turns out, there's a little difference in the body mounts before 2000, thus, they needed a 1999 4Runner to churn out a compatible kit for older 3rd gens.

Guess who showed up with a 99 4Runner?

Dropped it off at 9:00AM and then went about my day in the 94 Supra turbo. I came across another Supra on my way to class!

When I got back to Energy around 3:30, I found more than expected!

Turns out, they noticed my old sway bar bushings, and decided it was necessary to change them out with polyurethane - FRONT AND REAR!

Before I left, they loaded me up with stickers and some polyurethane exhaust hangers. They got the information on my other cars should they need additional R&D (there's not all that much out for the MKIV Supra, so I hope it comes to that!).

Just as I was about to head out, the manager of the company walks out, shakes my hand, and offers me a job.

Now I'm debating if I should quit my job of 9 years. Maybe it's time. Thoughts are appreciated.

Damn! That's awesome man [emoji1360] Beautiful rig BTW. Trail wheels might be my current favorite 3rd gen wheels.
What's your current job? How does compensation and benefits compare? Is it a job you would enjoy?
When it comes to what I do for a living, I make enjoying the job my 1st priority. Sometimes you have to go through certain seasons you don't enjoy to get to where you want, but overall, it's important you like what you do.
I love my job, and- although it's still tough to get up at 3:45-4AM- I don't dread going to work at all. Been a Union Commercial Inside Wireman(Electrician) for 8 years, and I still love what I do every day [emoji1360]

I'm a firm believer that stuff like that doesn't just happen for you to turn down. But on the less philosophical, more realistic side i'll reiterate. How does it compare to your current gig? Benefits, Compensation, Perks? Hours? Mandatory OT at one and not the other? etc. All things to consider. I remember a while back you were working at a MBZ dealership, I assume that is still true. Going from flat rate to hourly or even salary is an adjustment.

I don't know you from a fly on the wall (besides being youre Secret Santa some years ago), but hell I'd say do it if everything points that way. It's great to have tenure and seniority and the consistency of the same job, but at the same time this, to me, sounds like a great door is opening with a great company.

Just my $.02
