after like 3 days of reading 1200 posts i was expecting to end with new parts not having your window smashed and your shit taken... hopefully your insurence company will cover all the stuff that was stolen and broken... next what a wonderful build this and the 88/89 22re turbo man you post to many pictures...

magna flow situation.. thats why magnaflow employs a larger legal team then most law offices cause they know there products are crap internally (some states require non glass pack mufflers and the ~sub $50 price tag makes them great to cut open gut and reweld)

as for the sway bar enf link bushings you said you have gone through 3-4 sets at the point in late 12 early 13 did thay all look cut up like the red ones that were on the front?

is the 1 inch body lift showing any signes of wear or compression. after ~20 years of the 3"solid rubber body lift being on a 73 (2nd gen k5) blazer when they were pulled off they measured like 1.75" though it was used the last 10 years of its life to plow snow...

Not to threadjack, but you said that the ones on your Blazer were rubber. Most of the body lifts I see installed are made from a hard plastic material. I know 4Crawler uses a material abbreviated as UHMW-PE. I would imagine it wears differently from rubber. Here is more info.

It seems you live near bad areas, as people mess with your truck a lot. You have a good amount of persistence as your rig is fixed within the week. I've been vandalized once with my truck, and it wasn't even severe. Great work man, and keep truckin'.

My alarm is going to go in the trash, buying a new one. Actually, buying 3... one for the 1st gen, 2 for the 3rd gens.

That proximity sensor is a nice idea, especially when the roof is off of the turbo truck.

Thankfully I still have that scangauge you sold me, they didn't take it.

The sway bar endlink bushings on it today have held up, only the set pictured were the ones that cut up like that. They were cheapo crappy ones, I solely use energy polyurethane since.

Magnafail has no place in my home. If a company has to maintain a larger than average legal team to keep its poor practices afloat, that's not the company for me.

I live in a relatively affluent area, just the neighboring city has a huge amount of low income housing (their mayor happens to be of their same type), each housing unit usually packed to the brim with families. I'm talking 2 bedroom apartments with 3 full families, one in each room. A good friend of mine is related to the mayor, who made it a point to give these people a place to go.

I'm not going to name any ethnicities, but they're highly prevalent in the local crime. This particular incident with my truck is likely no different. Change and subwoofers probably gave some crackhead the ability to get ****ed up on my coin. A lot of Heroin going around in that area lately.

Quick question. How did you come into contact with that wrecked 4runner.

I contacted a broker who was able to help me bid on a Copart auction.

Copart is a salvaged vehicle auction, mainly for dismantlers interested in parts.

I got the faceplate to fit the radio again so it is functioning. Sure sucks without the subs, I miss them.

The CB was given a beating, they tried to steal it but could not defeat my ultra shipping tape mount. Figured now is a good a time as ever to use the ashtray clips I left in there.

I've always had a bad feeling about the security of the parking lots at the U-Pull-It yards. I take a look at the people around me when I'm there and most of them don't look like people I would want to have a chance at getting inside my rig. After all, everybody is there for cheap car parts right? What's better than cheap? Free!! ... off that nice rig in the parking lot.

I've always expected to come out and find my spare gone, or my tail lights or roof rack cross bars swiped. Something like that. Which is why I never, NEVER take the '01... always the '97.

Again, sorry to see that happen to you, and don't worry... karma will catch up with them in the long run. I hope your insurance company fully covers your loss.

Never fun to deal with theft. Sucks to see it happen to the people who work hard for what they have when these scum get high off our belongings.

Part of me wonders if the yard employees have anything to do with it. Not really much I could do in that event. No sense in trying to find out, but I will heed your advice and likely use the 99 2WD for junkyard runs.

Thankfully the insurance company worked everything out with the body shop adjuster and got me a check to cover my lost goods. The covered items:

dashboard repair
carpet repair (torn from audio cable being pulled)
window replacement
interior bezels damaged
bent cargo cover

The stolen items were not covered as they are would be considered under the home insurance policy.

I took another page out of the BFAD book today... thanks for the kind words and the inspiration.

Car is automatic - yes, it will be 5-speed swapped like the others

129,890 miles, one owner, garaged since new, clean for the age

Blown head gasket is the reason for sale. Rear bumper has a scrape.

I had it in mind to see another Supra today. I stumbled across the craigslist ad for this car posted just one day before. I was the first who called him.

Last Sunday. Its an 88 with the 3.0L 6. Manual, 4x4, 211000 miles but the engine was rebuilt via the recall at 120000. Clutch has been rebuilt. Interior is practically mint. Exterior has some rust spots. It was originally a CA vehicle, but has spent the last 10 years here in WI. Im planning on doing close to a full restoration. I cant believe how solid it rides for being 26 years old. Im really impressed with it

...and now... 89 Supra Turbo...

Excellent choice, man. I always find myself missing my old Supra. Those Mk3's are just solid vehicles, and outside of the BHG issue, they are extremely reliable. Before I ever had a 4Runner my Supra was my DD/fishing vehicle and I used to take that thing up rougher forest roads than most 4Runners will ever see... on big wide tires with low profile sidewalls, and a lowered suspension.

You found a nice one there... low miles, ultra clean interior (rare), color matched door/fender trim, and the 89+ updates at the front/rear, etc. The BHG job is pretty easy in terms of the work, the hardest part is ensuring that you get a good seal with the MHG. You have to get a really smooth surface on the block/head so that they mate well with the MHG. Make sure you get the ARP head bolts, too. Knowing you, the 5 speed swap will be a piece of cake.

Before you turn up the boost, let that baby breathe. I saw the biggest gains on my Supra from the ported turbo elbow, the 3" exhaust, and replacing the cat with a test pipe. Opening up the exhaust system turned it into a whole different vehicle, and the CT-26 spools instantly with a fully open 3" system.

I'm excited to see the build for this one!!!! Now, get going!

PS... some nice wheels in a graphite / anthracite type of color would look great on there.
