IMO, the four minutes before my response was plenty of time to go to the forum homepage and click on the "All Other Vehicles" subforum. Try exploring the forum a little more so that you don't get called out for coming off as lazy.

Will do (next time). For the record, I've been exploring the forum for 2 days. I just bought a 4Runner and am looking for some ideas for the suspension. Still new to forums so I will work on that. Sorry :cheers:

Haha, I actually dailyed the Supra all through high school, it was my first car. If I had listened to everything that everyone told me to do back then I would have a 6 speed, quad turbo, supercharged, slammed, hot pink Supra sitting on 24" wheels...

I usually spend a lot of time researching everything I do to my cars a whole bunch before I do them so I'm glad it shows in the end. I appreciate the compliments!

Can't wait to see you get that motor back into the MK3 and get the beast back on the road. I just did the TB/WP etc on the 4Runner. Everything went well with it I believe and it has me debating tearing into the Supra to replace that TB/WP and valve stem seals. I'm also debating just pulling the head and sending it off to be cleaned, sealed, shimmed, etc and putting a new headgasket on since I don't know if it was ever done.

DAMN no hot pink with 24"s?! LAME. Quad turbos are a MUST!!

The head job on the 7M sounds wise since you don't know the head gasket history. Then again a compression test won't hurt.

It's a restomod. Crate 383 stroker on a 700R4 trans. Discs up front on a Mustang II suspension. Even has AC!

Annnnnddddd DONE! It's taken a solid week of reading on and off but I just made it through your entire thread.
This is great dude; as month old owner of a 2002 SR5 2wd this has been a huge inspiration to me. And I just want to thank you on behalf of everyone you've helped with this thread along. Believe me when I say that while some of the old gray-backs of this forum may have moved on, your truck and your persistence in the face of some major bad luck/jerks/acts of God is still a daily inspiration.
I am a solid 3 weeks out from knowing literally nothing about cars, and I hope this will help me keep my baby running for at least the next decade. God bless man

The inspiration from many of the rigs on this website is what made me build mine. What a great community. The best thing you can do is post up your rig because I'm sure it will come out awesome! Gotta start somewhere, and welcome to cars! Thanks for all the nice words!

Wow, I just finished reading through the whole thread and all I have to say is... Wow... First off, you seem like a really cool dude that knows his stuff. You have sick rides. I'm going to use some of your ideas. Love your attitude about getting mods done (even tough you put some off, their obviously not important enough to you; you didn't put them off because of laziness).

I just got my 99 T4R 2 days ago. It's a green highlander (I think), V6, 4x4. Has bad suspension (still need to make a few more posts to start a thread about it) and brakes need to be done soon (few months), so I may knock them out together and do the tundra upgrade. Need some info on the suspension, I decided not to lift it because it's a family vehicle/DD and I will be doing little to no offroading until I get another ride (which may be a while). Because it's a family car, I want a smooth ride (this is what will drive my purchase).

Sorry for the digression (I've been up all night, literally reading your thread). Overall, I say sick rides. Love them all. Please post thread link to your supra build (one of my dream cars), if there isn't one, MAKE ONE! Thanks for the good read my friend. I hope to see a V6 or V8 dropped into you T4R.

This forum will tell you anything and everything you want to know about your options, and things like the TBU 231mm upgrade are pretty much MUST DO mods. Even my girlfriends has them, and even though her rig doesn't have 4WD or heavy armor, she needs them more than I do (she still hits stuff!)

Picked up this rig. 2000 SR5 4WD, 5-speed Manual R150F, E-locker. 160k on ODO.

It will give up it's E-Locker and some of its interior to the ol cobblewagen.

DONOR TRUCK 3.0

The whole front end took a major hit - airbags deployed. The front bumper is history. The radiator, condenser, and fan had blended themselves into one entity.

Chopped to reveal a clean motor. The AC compressor took a hit so it's stuck engaged. The water neck that leads to the lower radiator hose also broke in two.

It runs also, anyone need a good 3.4?

I doubt the R150 would work in either of them, I've never seen that swap done.

I'd say closer to 400hp. It's carbureted. If you upgraded to a fuel injected system, you can get some more ponies out of it. No need. I like having the carb. A little old-school. And it's more than enough!

Man, if it was only that easy... Supra transmissions are expensive and hard to find in good condition.

It has its advantages and disadvantages. I'm working on the whole hoarding thing... lol

That run was ages ago, I don't recall. We spent the night and ran a lot of trails the second day. The truck was just barely 4WD, I was getting used to a manual transmission at the time. It's time for another visit, soon, this time with the new trailer in tow. Big Bear is beautiful, the trails are abundant.

i read the thread and all i can say is tires arent safe from kids at all in your hometownound:

Thankfully, as far as the intentional tire vandalism, those kids later owned up to it like men. They even compensated for the damages. Peace of mind for everyone involved.

That feeling though... I recently got a call that my 87 had a flat outside home, my heart sank. I get home, there's just a screw in the tire. It wasn't even fully flat. $20 to get it patched at the local tire shop.

Apparently, Christmas lights aren't safe either. A new neighbor once tried to frame me when someone cut his lights. The cops were called, he mentioned me specifically. I got a call about it and went straight home. The neighbor had the audacity to blame me straight to my face, and he claimed to have a video to prove it. I asked to see the video, he said it was already with the police.

They never did get back to me with that video. I'll bet he feels like a great big, gaping assh0le.

Hehe, Gateway drug. We have a local shopping center called Gateway Center. I've always wanted to own a drug store there just so it could be named Gateway Drug. RANDOM, but it would make me giggle

Yeah, keep us posted on the ol V6... we can make plans as things get closer.

The tire patch was best done by qualified personnel... lol. I have access to the tools at work, but I don't trust myself enough to put the tire back on the rim correctly. The KM1's on that truck are 15 years old. For some reason, I've never been a big fan of plugs. Maybe in a tight spot, but I usually carry a spare for that type of thing.
