That was a couple years ago I believe. Bugs are minimal here now (eastern MD) but... we are going out earlier this year than last. Supposed to get down in the low 40s and 50s.
The spider did a number to his arm. I'm in Northern VA, and the bugs aren't horrible here either. Well, the stink bugs are everywhere! I wish I could join everyone, as I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. I'll live vicariously through everyone's pics until next time.

Holy spider bite antman! I haven't had to use any bug repellent yet on this trip, guess I'll put some on just for good measure as soon as I cross the NC/VA line!!!
Note, I'm hoping it's freezing when I get back to CO cuz I'm positive there will be multiple stink bugs catching a ride on my truck! I flip them off at least twice a day and I've yet to see them in CO (probably because winter sucks!)

Supposedly they haven't made it that far west yet. They are horrible. We find them all winter long creeping inside our homes. No known predators and they eat everything. Lovely gift from Asia! It's said they were stowaways on a ship at some point and snuck past customs!

I kid you not, walked into my room (parents guest room) tonight and a stink bug was crawling on the wall. Right behind it was a rather large spider following it! Crazy!!! My dad thought the stink bug was too big for the spider but I didn't wait to find out, both are now departed. :fish: Looks like the Cove doesn't have a lock on the bugs and spiders.
I'm sure they'll make it to CO, but really winter feels like it's 8 months long sometimes so don't know why they'd want to be there....

Ah man! Found out about this too late! Going camping on the Blue Ridge Parkway this weekend for that peak leaf season and to test out my new Bilstein & FJ setup. Woot Woot! Y'all be safe and have fun!

Has anyone taken their pups? If so how pet friendly are they out there at the Cove? My dog is good off leash, will the staff be anal about keeping her on one?

I have never been before but will be bringing my dog (a ~2 year old lab/pit) and so will [MENTION=125487]RaisedByWolves[/MENTION]. We are both bringing 50' leashes just in case they are anal about a leash.

I brought my Ridgeback girl last year. She will come again this year. We brought a 25' tie out for our immediate tent area, but she stays close anyway. They don't seem anal about having them on leash. She rode the trails with me. There were a couple of other dogs last year as well.

my dogs have spent plenty of time there, and steves( spy45) dog has also spent most years there off leash.
