True that! BUT- the new LE's have even less ground clearance in the front with the redesign.
The hardware is all there, the clearance is not even close.
That said, [MENTION=125487]RaisedByWolves[/MENTION] and MAXIMUS! made it down and up(!) a fairly difficult trail without any real damage. Pretty impressive really!

to be honest, we were never lost, I knew where we were going, BUT its much more exciting to "be lost" or unsure of future conditions. Gotta give you all a sense of adventure, esp since the trails we were on never exceded a 2/3 rating.
and yes I would say sliders and skids are a MUST for the cove. Even if you have nothing else, you can bounce along.

This looked like a blast, the Cove is awesome! I will say given that VA is an open carry state, I was surprised that we didn't see any target practice going on? Sorry I missed you all, had to lay send my Great Dane "home" on Thursday so I wouldn't have been good company. I hope to make it next year, but I want my rig to be better suited for the more extreme trails out there. I have twisted up a couple 4 wheelers out there in the past so I know there are even harrier trails at this place. Well Done to all! :clap2:

I got some replacements rear shocks put in by High Tech today. Bilsteins. My Toytec right rear shock was destroyed by the tree branch.

Hey all...first off great weekend! Had a blast and it was probably one of the most fun group of offroaders I've been out with. Noone was unsafe, no one was tanked while on the trails (campsite is another story), and no trail drama.
I have [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] and [MENTION=112177]4RnR Grl[/MENTION] to thank for my username....my original name was very old, and due to inactivity, was recycled, so I had to get a new one, but luckily...I already had one :thanks: The mods have finally created the full account, so I can finally write. Thanks to Antman for taking 4Rnr Grl so literal.
I was gonna dress up as Maximus for Halloween, but couldn't find a pair of trucknuts big enough for the costume.
I found out where the f#ck Swaziland is...its real and not close to Loompaland, as I had originally thought. [MENTION=66968]Spy45[/MENTION]
Swapped fluids in both the diffs after the trip...beautiful golden brown. How water didn't get in is beyond me. Relocated my rear breather to behind the fuel door anyway. Figure if I hit water that deep, my diffs are the least of my worries.
While under the truck, checked the carrier bearing (AKA Center Load Bearing)...wiggle wiggle, clunk clunk. At 140K miles, and a hard life of being Supercharged (since 42K), its time to replace. That will happed today.
Gonna mod my rear prop valve soon as well. I didn't like having all rear brake at times on trail. Gonna make a mod to set it in one place and do away with the load sensing. Suspension flex seems to dork up Toyotas original design. Cool thing is the trail shows us the shortcomings of our rigs. If we take notes, we can get it a little better each time.
I may add a topper next year so I fit in better :lol:

That is one beast of a truck. We should have called you One Big Green Taco HAH! It may be small but it is mighty! I'm glad you made it out with a bunch of crazy 4Runner peeps and had a good time. I'm still trying to remove the Cove mud off my interior.

You would have to glue fur to two basketballs to have nuts that big.
Yeah, I swapped most of the fluids, and was lucky not to have any water in there. I may or may not have cracked the rear transfer case housing at the drain bolt, still can't get the front one out. Wanna come help fix it?
Definitely need a topper, I will send you a 3rd gen grill too that way you can be all sorts of 4Runner'd out.:banana:
