Consumer Reports Annual Auto Issue

Anyone see the lastest Annual Auto Issue? They didn't have the greatest review for the 5th Gen. Complained about fit and finish, clumsy handling, unsettled ride, body lean in corners, etc. etc. I'll stick with my awesome '06 4th Gen, thank you very much!!:trophy:

CR does not like truck-based SUVs, period. but who cares what CR thinks? that is the last place i'd look for advice when buying a new car.

Really? I used to look there for reliability ratings. Millions do just that, and it definitely helped me. I just discount their comfort ratings and other stuff till I drive a vehicle for myself.

When it comes down to it, CR is mostly opinions and preferences. Everyone has their preferences for their vehicle they look for and appreciate

if it works/ed for you, great. i would take their ratings into consideration before buying electronics or appliances (though i don't). i have frequently found their automotive reporting to be questionable, dating back to the suzuki samurai fiasco of the late 80's/early 90's.

i think there are much more reliable resources for new car shoppers to use.

Calm down everyone. This report is for the 5th gen. The 4th gen was their top choice in midsize suvs. Things went downhill after the 4th gen.

Most importantly, reliability continues to get its highest rating.

Like other have said, the rest is completely personal preference.

Consumer Reports are no longer UNTACHABLEs. Since when Fords were reliable? I had one, never again...
