Cornfed Install/Yaw-Sensor Info

x2...like Falls, i am/was a fan of the 1" front lift...but after seeing the pics, i gotta say that the 2/1 lift sure looks good!:)

Question...i read in the FJ brochure that the Revtek lift preserve factory CV angle in the front. I am not sure how much lift the Revtek is, but does Cornfed lift preserve CV angle??

BTW, airbur, with a lift and bumpers/rock sliders (in future), you may want to get tires that are more aggressive than Goodyear Wrangler SA. You need to make your ride look badass!:D

Hey Thai.....I'm not sure on the CV Angle. I find it hard to believe that one brand of spacer lift would preserve it and another wouldn't. A spacer lift is just that...spacers on top of the coil springs. I don't really see how that wouldn't change the CV angle somewhat but maybe the way the 4Runner is designed....having the spacers doesn't affect it? We need a Toyota engineer on this forum!

Haha...I know....the bumper is WAY off in the future although the sliders may happen sooner. I've done quite a bit of research on tires that are effective both on-road (mileage) and off-road. While I'd LOVE to have some crazy BFG 285s etc. for the look...I'm relegating myself to keeping somewhat of a descent mileage figure. Time will tell though!
 
airbur - even with the 2/1 lift it looks like your 4R still has a slight rake to the front-end. Or is it just the angle of the pics?

I know you have only had this lift a couple months, but have you noticed if the ride has become a little more harsh, like others have complained about, especially in the rear?

Hi 00328.....The ride is slightly more stiff in the rear but I hardly notice it anymore. Other than that it's the same.

It may have a VERY slight rake but looking at it on a flat surface, I'd say it's pretty level.
 
The disconnect point is where the rubber flex hose meets the steel lines from what I was told , I dont know if your talking about disconnecting by the frame rail ? then you would have to take the lines off and that wind all over the F'n place.
 
Airbur, how's the 2/1 now? Still kickin ass? ;): Also, how is your rear shock on speed bumps? I heard 3/2's a bit harsh. That's what's actually holding me back from installing it. Well...that and I can't find a competent shop to install it.

Hey man...it's great. No problems or issues yet. I'm getting ready to put on some new tires soon. You will barely be able to tell a difference with the rear...the ONLY time I can tell is if I'm on a high-speed turn...like a freeway-merge and there is a break in the asphalt...like where a bridge starts. There is a little hop but barely anything...and I'm probably going too fast anyway. Otherwise, the suspension feels like it should from Toyota.

An unmodified 4th gen 4Runner has more than 1" of rake, so whether you go with a 1" front only leveling lift, or a 2/1 lift, you'll still end up with some rake. In other words, a 2/1 lift is only going to make the front end one inch higher than the rear, which is the same thing the 1" front leveling lift accomplished. Even the 3/2 has the same rake, because it still only lifts the front 1" more than the rear.

No matter which lift you choose, I think it looks best to have a bit of rake remaining. A 4th gen that is perfectly level (by measuring at the wheel wells to the ground) will have downward sloping running boards, which looks kinda funny.
