You might also check the Carmax in Laurel. If the dealership can't beat their deal, then it's not worth arguing. I have driven up there 3 times now to purchase a brand new Toyota from them.

My wife bought her Hybrid Camry from there in 2007, very friendly people. I went up there last Thursday and talked to Adam about a TE 4runner. Shopping around now and have an appointment tonight in Koons of Westminster, will see how it goes. Have all my reference stuff printed out for some ammo, I love buying a new car but hate it at the same time.

I didn't notice a stronger than usual new car smell in my limited. But it still smells new if it sits in garage with windows closed for a day or two and I've had it for 8 months or so.

Can't recommend you buy a car that gives you a migrain. Buy used? Or plan on leaving it wide open, outside for a week before driving.

No smell in mine either. I have a Limited and the wife and I have been totally pleased! This is our first 4Runner and she's already stating that this is going to be our main vehicle for the next 10+ years. Enjoy

I think I know what you mean. Although I have an SR5 with cloth, it did remind me of how my 66 Mustang smelled when I bought that new.
I also notice that it does smell different than my wife's new 2010 Acura TL. The 4Runner smell is stronger, but it doesn't bother me at all?

So I went to another dealer today and they had a 2011 Limited that they were using as a demo and I test drove that one. 100% better experience. It still had the usual new car smell but it was much more mellow and did not have the sort of rotten-sweet odor the first truck had. So I think I'm off to start haggling.

I have many leather bound books and my 4runner smells of rich mahogany! Maybe just the leather part. I dont have a problem with that.
