The only time cruise control will negatively impact fuel mileage is in hilly terrain, especially on the V6. The V6 is low torque to begin with and the cruise control systems in our T4R's have sluggish response. Quite frequently, speed will increase going downhill and as the car hits the valley between the 2 hills, the CC allows speed to drop to the preset level. Unfortunately, as the speed is dropping you begin the upstroke and the CC can't respond quickly enough to regain speed such that the car drops below the preset. If the uphill run is steep enough, you'll downshift to regain the speed setting. This will absolutely destroy fuel mileage. You can take over speed control w/o disengaging CC by manually maintaining the preset or higher speed before reaching the valley between the 2 hills and maintaining that speed to the top of the hill. I can usually do that w/o the tranny downshifting.
