Ok. here is whats going on...
Went to dealer did my 10K service, everything was feeling great. Went to Tire World and had them put my stock tires (265x70x17) and TPMS on my brand new Konig Countersteer Type X rims (17x8, bore 110, -10 offset) with custom ceter caps (from the rim guy) and gorilla locks (from the rim guy). They balanced and installed them.
On the way home it felt weird, I wrote it off to rims being lighter and it being windy. The next day (Today) I was doing high speed driving and there was really bad speed wobbles at 50-60 (didn't feel safe going any higher) went back to tire world and asked WTF, they said there best balancer would be in tomorrow to see if redoing the balance would fix it. Also they said that it might need a hub spacer cuase the wheel and hub might not be 100% hub size wise(didnt think lug centric rims needed a 100% hub match).
This is my first new SUV, first set of aftermarket rims, and I only got 10K on the 4runner... I am asking for all that are smarter then me to give me some ideas of whats wrong and how to fix it so i can enjoy my SUV
If you need extra info not given PLEASE ASK!
Scenarios I have thought of... but could still use input.
1. lugs backing off (tried retourqing)
2. bad balance (going to check tomarrow)
3. needing a hub spacer (no one said anything about this till now)
4. custom low profile center cap not letting rim sit flush (not made by konig)
5. locks and cap after balance is effing up overall balance
6. need to do something (alignment?) to correct for wider rim that has a larger offest then stock (no rubbing from what I can tell)
Im freaking out here, dont like my baby eff'ed up! :ybrick:
PLEASE HELP!!!
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!
