This isn't my truck (I wish it was though!) and I have no idea who the owner is. I just ran across the ad while looking for anything 4Runner on Craigslist tonight.

Anyhow, I know how everyone wants a clean 5 speed, so I thought I would throw this out there for anyone in the Central/Northern Calif area who might be in the market.

Would rather see what appears to be a nice truck go to a fellow forum member than some soccer mom looking for second vehicle.

Hood looks jacked up though...

Looked good until I saw the hood... clean title eh? Looks like it's been in a wreck and they didn't replace the hood or something.

Yeah, either that or some fat man got up on the hood and danced a jig on it. It's got the racing cable tie-downs on it so the hood won't flip up, I bet it doesn't even latch shut. Stuff like that makes me wonder what they did to it.

I thought u were talking about the blue rig. I see what your talking about on the green rig. I stared the blue one cross eyed looks for a cable tie down.

I dunno, it depends on what you're doing. I prefer a manual for sporting vehicles, but there's something nice about an auto in a DD or long hauler. It's less engaged driving, sure, but sometimes I don't want to be engaged; I just want to peel off the miles.

Exactly. Stick no fun when you inches from a cliff edge and you have to e brake heel toe work the clutch and not go off the side. Also for DD nothing better. Stick good for auto cross track racing. I've found autos so much better at the drag strip also. No human error less drivetrain stress.
 
Ya I've never understood the appeal for the 5spd here. I'd much rather have the auto. I had a 5spd for my first car in high school...won't have another one, unless its a sports car.

Auto I just hop in and drive. There is nothing worse than sitting in traffic around here inching forward in a manual. And no way would I want one off-road.
 
Only way I go manual is if running dual tcase for building a crawler.

Try driving an aftermarket 3100lb pressure plate in stop and go. Let's just say my left leg is still twice the size of my right from all the work out it got. Lol
 
young people who drive automatics are just that much less aware of what proper vehicle dynamics and control are.

My favorite pet peeve while driving is rolling up to someone stopped at an intersection who has the right of way/green light. Ill be crawling up in 2nd waiting for them to start so i dont have to come to a complete stop. Ill flash my lights, blip my horn. Then when the light turns yellow they take off through the intersection leaving me to jab on my brakes while cussing at the uninvolved lazy operator.
 
That blue one is purrdy.

The green one? 6.5k for a truck that needs "racing" pins to hold the hood down...no thanks.

5 speeds are definitely not as rare as people make them out to be....at least not here in CO.

Its all a matter of how you drive and your own personal preference. Me personally yeah it does suck to have a manual in traffic but, i like the feel of being in control of when my truck shifts. My wife has early onset arthritis from her chrons disease so she obviously would like an automatic. Yes an automatic does out do a manual on the drag strip, but its still just a preference. All of my personal vehicles are a manual thats my runner and my volvo. My wife her volvo is an auto and we are looking into buying her a auto truck. So its just a matter of preference and how you drive and what you doing. for all those that are not quite sure if they like their auto, i do have a full 5speed swap for sale tranny peddles clutch and hydraulics so i can convert the non believers. LOL

Silly guys dont you know hood pins add atleast 10 hp each lol

Yeap, you also are the guy pissing off the one behind you in the auto, because your taking ages to get up to the red light, waiting for it to hopefully change so you dont have to shift or stop. LOL. I know because I was that guy, people would pull a pass when going up to a red. Funny.
