Creeking/clunking noise with new lift normal?

Hey guys,

Just put on a new ICON extended travel lift and ICON UCA's. Just curious if a creeking/clunking/popping sound coming from the front is normal...I can recreate the sound when I slowly make a LEFT or RIGHT turn while creeping up my driveway or speed bump (rocking side to side motion). Going head on typically does not recreate the noise...Do I just need to let it settle and break in?

Yes, but not at first. Did you install the sway bar spacers?

Its the sway bar hitting the lower radiator support on the left side. Take off your front skid and you'll see. I ended up using a couple thick washers and longer bolts on the support arms and it gave me just enough clearance for the noise to go away.

I had to add a lot of extra spacers too and bought longer bolts just to clear the sway bar and radiator support which left me thinking did I install everything correctly? My stage 5 Icons creak here and there and they're pretty new too. I bought a grease gun and gave the UCA zerk fittings some pumps of lube which helped some most of the creaking. I also shot the top of the coilovers with lithium grease.

The bottom spherical bearing needs it a lot more than the top. They tend to wear out at about double the rate of the top bearing.

Yes, it does. You do not need the swaybar spacers, your problem lies elsewhere.

S5, KDSS, no noise on mine. I use heavy silicone spray on externals to prevent attracting dirt.

i have kdss and i solved a previous rattle i had by putting on new sway bar bushings and new LR UCA's. since you already have new UCA's i'm wondering if you need new sway bar bushings (front set of 4 is roughly $60)

This is exactly why you put what type of truck you have in your sig (or at the very least a "garage" with your trucks info)... so when you ask questions people know how to answer according to what you model/trim and options you've got :

Thanks Jeremy. Icon needs to send out a description of what type of lube and places to lube all there stuff or at least a maintenance page or something. It would be helpful to help care for their parts and accessories. I'll be sure to spray the lower spherical bearings when I get a chance.
