Cutting Bracket for Switches to Fit

SOOOooooo....


My switch plate fits great in the hole that I cut, everything was perfect until I tried to put it back into my truck. And this is what I see behind the hole:

I KNOW some of you have mounted this panel the exact same way, how have you gotten around that bracket on the right? I would just cut it so this could fit but I would have to cut off the section right where the two brackets connect.

I know there was a thread a while back that hit on this, but I couldn't find it.
Anyone?

I cut the bracket and made a new one. I wouldn't recommend eliminating it completely, it holds in the "knee airbags"

Ah thanks, I was hoping you would respond. Yea when I was checking it out I could see that the bracket is crucial to the integrity of the knee air bags. So I will just get to cutting and see what I can come up with I guess.
