It had to be a 3RZ, or I would've looked for a limited in the first place. My dad always mentions how much eaiser it could've been to just get a limited each time we go out to gather parts.

I'd like to think of it as a 3rd Gen, "Greatest hits" Edition. :biggrin2:

Lol yea the limited flares are pretty nice to look at, gives a nice beefy look. How is the 3rz in dd? Good enough grunt for cruising around?

It's no powerhouse by any means, but if you just take it easy it gets around just fine and gets 22mpg easily, if you drive it hard, you'll get 17 or so and might as well have the 3.4. My only complaint is just like any 4 cylinder, it doesn't like low RPMs (>800) as much as a v6.

Mmmm, i used to dd my family's older camry 99 and it runs perfectly but ive always wanted a 3rd gen and came across the one i have now. People always say the 3.4 is a slow engine but coming from the 4cyl camry it has plenty of grunt lol.

True about the mpg though, i maintain under 2k rpm in the city and average about 17-18.5 mpg.. how high do you rev and still get 22 mpg?

I usually shift around 2500 and maintain speed between 1800-2200. But it seems as long as I don't maintain high rpm it doesn't matter if I'm in the city, highway or backroads, it gets 22 everywhere.

I came from driving a 3.slow v6 for a year, and have driven 22re trucks and a 3.4 3rd gen, I prefer the 2.7 over all of them, its the perfect motor for a daily driver imo.

Got bored and found a place to flex out behind the house.

Stock 2WD - 235/75/15 (2" Lower than 4WD)

Add a 3" BL and subtract the front bumper. (I'll give you a hint, it didn't change the flex)

Figured I might as well update, been too busy on the weekend to do anything major so I've been running around looking uninsured.

Got my front gearset

Ultraguage came in today, going to plug it in tomorrow.

Doors are getting dropped off tomorrow morning to have the inside painted so I can mount them up.

Lift isn't going on for probably a month since I'm working 7 days a week all October.

New audio system stuff:

American Bass 150.1 (2900W)

Hertz HDP4 on the front speakers

New CDT speakers for the new doors.

Also put in an alpine double din, then decided 5 minutes later I hated it.

Picked up the paint today, wasn't thinking my paintjob would be coming this year, but maybe.We might try to get the lift on later this week, might just be a pipe dream though.

I just caught up on your build. I like that you are taking the parts that you like and putting them on no matter what other people think. Are you selling this truck when you're done, or is this a personal thing?

Have you put the purple wheels on yet, I would love to see those with the black? You'll like the Ultragauge, it is quite useful and pretty easy to operate. Can't wait to see the turbo. I wonder if you can get the hood with the scoop and actually use the scoop for the turbo, instead of it just being for looks.

For the whole of October you are working 7 days straight, so you're working 4 weeks straight, no days off?!

Thanks man, this is a keeper, not going to sell it ever. This is going to be the only car in the forseeable future that I put this amount of work and money into.

Wheels still aren't on, been extremely busy all summer, and yep working every day in October, so probably won't get done for more than a month.

The turbo is kind of on the backburner, I picked up a project car that will be the fast one, after adding over 1000 extra pounds I don't think the 4runner will ever be fast.

I was planning on making the scoop into part of the intake, but have decided I don't want the scoop after all, just changed my mind and it isn't worth 300 bucks to me.

Found a good spot for my Ultragauge, super easy install only took 5 minutes.

With my driving position, all the way back and leaning back pretty far, I can see it no problem, if you are sitting closer to the steering wheel you can't see it at all.

Plug broke off of the voltmeter, and I had to tear it all apart to fix it, so I decided I might as well do what I wanted to do in the first place.

Got my limited doors back from paint, he ended up doing a quick spray on the outside for me too.

Filled up today, ended up right on my average MPG, looks like 22 mpg is the most I'm ever gonna get, UltraGauge isn't needed anymore, so it's for sale.
