Couple small updates, got tired of the chrome reflectors inside of the factory corners next to the graphite headlight housings, so I had to do something about it.
I knew I didn't want to do anything to the reflectors inside the housings since that's what projects the lights, and I use my corners alone very often for driving just before dusk or in semi-foggy conditions, so here's what I came up with.
I started by getting a set of Depo brand clear corners, never thought I'd say that, I hate the look of clear corners unless you're going full JDM themed. Then I picked up some Tamiya model paint in a transparent amber color, (#PS-43), (I actually bought 3 cans thinking it would take that much, but it only took one, so if anyone needs some let me know lol.)
This is what the corners turned out as after 2 or 3 coats of the Tamiya paint, the finish isn't the toughest, it could use a quick coat of clear to toughen it up a bit.
After that I got on to something I've been putting off for months, swapped my factory roof rack crossbars out to the Yakima bars/landing pads that have been sitting in my room assembled forever. Much beefier than the stock bars.
While I was doing that I got rid of one of the backup lights, one is more than enough, the second one barely makes a difference.
Slid it all the way to the corner on the driver's side to give myself the most usable light.
And last but certainly not least, I picked these up off of a guy on the Prerunner forum I frequent, a Trio of LightForce Genesis 210mm's, all in great shape with self contained 35W HID setups installed in all of them.
These will probably look goofy on my current bumper, but hopefully I'll be picking up a tube bender sometime this year and pounding out some new bumpers and sliders.
