Breaking news: My transmission died in a spectacular fashion on my way home tonight. Dropped from 1st to 2nd and completely ****ed something. I have no first or reverse and it's making a whole lot of noise. Probably related to whatever was knocking around in there last summer, but it made it's return really noticeable lol.
If something's gonna break, I always prefer it goes out with a bang!
Will be picking up my new trans Sunday and slapping it in.
4500? I shift at 5500! No promises on that. Old habits die hard lol.LOL, thats what happens when you switch gears at 4500rpm!
Take it down to 3500 on the new one will ya! LOL :high5:
I can imagine lol, that's trying to do the first step last. While you're slamming it in real quick like, don't forget to lube up the clutch fork's pivot ball real good... My truck has a clutch job not so long ago and the mechanics forgot that parts. It was a PITA trying to get grease in there with the tranny installed.
Some major rethinking is in the works soon. Stay tuned guys.
Wow, that f#ckin' blows! Whats the gear set you're running now?
Sorry to hear about the recent misfortune!
Awesome you found an OEM 4.88 locally [emoji1360]
What's the "major rethinking" you mentioned?!
