Hey Franco, When you were memorizing the whole catalog did you notice if the wheels were going to be the same bolt pattern and possibly the same offset? I have been wanting to get custom wheels for my truck for months but when I buy the 5th gen in a year or so I would love to have my custom wheels just bolt onto my mighty fine new 5th gen. 4runner. Thanks for the eyes.

Well that's not good especially since the standard tires on the 5th gen are now 265/70-17 which would provide roughly a 1/2" extra ground clearance compared to the 4th gens 265/65-17 stock size. I thought I read somewhere though that the ground clearance on the 5th gen actually went up slighlty - but who knows where Toyota's marketing folks measure ground clearance these days
This is also just from looking at the pictures I have. It may not be as bad in person. However, the person who took the pictures said the same thing about the ground clearance when they were checking it out.
I guess we just have to wait until Toyota releases information about it to get exact numbers.
FWIW, the document in this thread says ground clearance went up by .9" for the 2WD and .6" for the 4WD, but since the tires are slightly taller on the 5th gen, it equates to basically no change at all. But like I said before, who knows where the marketing folks get their numbers from these days:

I haven't seen the interior yet.
As for the exterior, I don't care for it much. But that may just be my subconscious trying to tell myself that my 4th gen is much better.

We all can now see some cell phone pics of the interior & exterior in the "official picture" thread. The exterior varies alot from the official Toyota pic relased today versus these spy shots which must be a different model. I imagine the Toyota one is the Trail edition while the other 6 are different.
To me the exterior looks decent so far, more squared off and boxier. I hope the interior is a step up in terms of material quality(soft touch surfaces) and etc.

Hold on now - I ski often in CO and UT etc. What's the deal with the inaccurate new snowfall? Do tell.

I just think some of the resorts overestimate new snowfall to get more people to come to their resort. They'll say 8" and it turns out to be 4". That's probably how my wife feels.:lmao:
franco, it seems like they are backwards in a few areas (scrapping the projector headlights, going back to a mast antenna, etc.). Did anything else stick out to you as odd that may have been a step backwards instead of forward?
That's good at least. Can you tell if the rear tail light parts are still LED bulbs or not? From the Car and Driver spy shots it's hard to tell.

That is a cool option, probably on the TT edition.
Although, I don't know how much faith I would have in stock rock sliders. The 2nd gen Jeep GC Overland Editions came with "rock sliders" but they were plastic. But that's Jeep for you....
