Deckplate mod

what kind of deals? I love my goodyear mtrs but when I get my OEM tunrda coils LC coils lift i want some 305s or 285s.
I have done deckplate and if it sounds good not like a tuner. little throatier with a lower hum like a low litre v8.
Would you all reccomend that trueflow filter or AMSOIL? All the writeups I've read for the deckplate mod say "AMSOIL filter" but the model number provided doesnt exist anymore. I purchased an amsoil filter to fit my car but I dont know if it's the exact one that everyone reccomends.
well after class today i decided to run to a marine store and lowes and do the deckplate mod.
this was possibly the worst mod i have ever done in my life. let me start out by saying im not normally this horrible with handy work.
everything went fine, i purchased a 4.25 circle cutter and as i was opening it, the drill bit in the middle cut straight into my knuckle of my middle finger leaving me staring at my knuckle bone.
then after i contemplated going to get a couple of stiches or just putting a bandaid on and continuing the mod i threw on a bandage and put the drill bit into the drill. The clutch on the drill was all the way up and i hit the power button and will all of the drills power, it swung around and knocked me in the eye giving me almost an instant black eye.
so after recovering from that with a little ice, i continued (i wasnt going to stop here) this time i set the airbox on the ground to drill into it only to find out after putting pressure on it that i had snapped one of the 3 main legs off of it leaving a wide open gap behind the filter.
needless to say, the deckplate is outside drying now with the adhesive on it and so is the extra leg that i had to glue back on. So basically this is only my intermission to getting beat up some more, but i wont stop until its done and back together!

damn dude thats no good.
It took me 30 minutes since i had to file the box hole down some more since i measured wrong.
just did my isr now and screw the vac hose im not putting it back.
jtwo: yeah im on stock rims.. im keeping these rims when i up to 285s... but im not going any bigger. 305s would rub intensely on the a arms so im gonna stick with 285 width when i do the sus lift.

You went and bought the circle saw? I just used a rotozip I had laying around the garage. I had the circle cut in a minute or so. Sorry to hear about the bad luck!
I am going to attempt the ISR mod once I get a hold of the metal piece (I want it to look good), and once I order it per the instructions specs I will order the 99-02 4runner intake parts, blah blah blah...
This is fun becuase for the first 15 months of owning my car the extent of my modifications were changing the air filter and getting bigger tires, now I am jerry-rigging my whole intake for about $50...hahaha!

reallllllllly loud at 4k rpm
i mean its overtaking my 2 10 inch subs in the back...
bout to screw the deckplate in just to keep it down some damnnn!
but some more throttle response not much though.

i dont feel like it plus its only a vacum effect so its not needed..

it vaccums air out but... their isnt a nipple to use with the intake since I took the intake silencer out
the mod says you need to connect it to the fpr hose but im not in the mood now to do that.

Well, according to the write-ups, a tee isn't needed if you have that nipple on the plenum. I still can't get over on how neliconcept was able to do the mod, not connect the hose anywhere, and the computer isn't throwing a code as a result. I am very eager to complete this mod upon getting home today. I want to see what this loudness is all about.

Hmmm, engine should stay on without the silencer....i tried it...after all it is just a silencer and has nothing to do with the engine running...if anything, there will be more air...but unfiltered...since it is after the filter. Here is the write up:
