Did I break my brakes?

Hey guys, so today I started my injector replacement and found it to be quite simple, just more so time intensive more than anything. Then there were the hoses, I got to one that was next to the brake booster that I couldn't for the life of me remove. Finally I yanked it off after some pulling, or so I thought.

I looked and saw I had ripped off the brake fluid reservoir and that I hadn't actually removed the hose, it had just broken off is all, see below pic. My question is, do I now need to buy a new brake reservoir or booster? Or is this salvageable at all?

I believe you just pulled the reservoir from the master you should see a small screw that’s holds it to the master between the two ports. One seal appears to be missing possibly still in the master.

Holy smokes. Well if you have a stuck hose cut that sucker off. It doesn't look like the reservoir is damaged as both reservoir nipples look the same length. Try putting it back in, but install the seals first then the reservoir.

If you don't want to cut the hose then use some pliers and twist the hose to break the seal (twist on the metal nipple only not the unsupported hose).

The hose I don't really care about, I have a vacuum hose kit I got for another car years ago and still have extra hoses so I'll more than likely use that or should I just get it from Amazon? The vacuum hose kit's hoses are shiny and a flexible rubber while this hose seems like even new was thicker and stiffer.

Thanks for the tip on the reservoir, hopefully it's just a reseating and bleeding my brakes afterwards.

Sorry, it's not clear in that pic but I think I broke the portion where the screw would go, although it's mainly the bottom tip of it so the integrity of the reservoir itself should be fine. I'll take a look tomorrow for the other seal, hopefully it's still around but if not, does anyone know if the seals are sold separately and got an autozone/o'reilly part #? I'm hoping this is just me sliding it back in and doing a brake bleed afterwards.

Don’t know if autozone would sell it but you should be able to get it from a dealership.

You can just install the reservoir or glue the bottom opening for the bolt and reinstall your reservoir, additionally you can have few cable ties to keep the reservoir secured to the brake pump body.

Get new reservoir grommets for sure. It should just pop back in and be good. Did this a few times on my BMW (lol).
