Direct Replacement LED Fog Light Assemblies for 2014 & Other 5th Gens

just installed mine and took a quick drive in the park out back now that it is dark enough, am liking the led fog lights, it was a good purchase. Now just waiting for my led interior lights, led back up lights, baja rack, ladder, arb awning and thule cargo box to arrive.

And learned a valuable lesson that I guess we all have to go through once, although it seems like a great idea, driving up a dusty mountain road with the rear window open for the pups. Man does dust ever come in, 2hrs later lol of cleaning it today.

Welp, my Qicksand TRD Pro will be here by the end of May, I just ordered a set of these, I am going to do a bit more research on the HIDs for the headlamps but will be ordering those soon as well so I can have a one man mod party when i bring it home. I suffer with less than stellar night vision and always upgrade any vehicle i have with HID, this will be my first LED foglight mod. I like these a little better than the Rigid setup as they look and fit better for a more OEM appearance.

Did something change between 2015 model year and the new 2016 model year limited trim models?

I installed the morimoto LED fogs without removing the bumper.

This was the easiest mod ever. one screw, able to get it from underneath. took 10 minutes. huge improvement.

Not fitting flush

I can tell by some of the pictures that the Morimoto's don't fit flush (see pic) as the stock ones do. Has anyone figured out a way to install it better? also if not has anyone encountered any issues from water seepage due to that gap there?

I know that some that have replaced their OEM fogs with the Morimoto's (I'm sure it is in one of the posts in this thread) actually took their OEM light assembly out of the adjustment fixture, removed the Morimoto's from it's adjustment fixture, and placed the Morimoto LED's within the OEM adjustment fixture. Supposedly it fit like a charm and worked normally.

The Morimoto is a sealed light fixture. So is the front portion of the OEM fog light... they are both mounted from the rear and the front bezel is not a sealing fixture of any type...
So you don't have to worry because your question does not apply!

Spoke to the guys at TRS, they assure me that the install can be done on a 2016 Limited without removing the bumper. Im gonna wait to install HID headlights before I make the jump on these for the fogs. But I hear good things about them.

Does anyone have any input on the color matching of these fogs with their HID lights? Was looking at 5500k, but want them to be comparable in color.

Edit - Support said the LED fogs are 5500k, but wanted the input from y'all on what they look like.

I have H11: Morimoto Elite HID System

Ballasts: 2 x AMP: Morimoto 5Five DSP
Bulbs: 2 x H11: XB35 5000K
Harness Type: 1 x HD Relay: H11/H9/H8

I think they match pretty good..........

I had them on my Subaru and also on my '15 T4R Trail but sold them to my friend and got the Rigid Industries DOT/SAE fogs. Both are awesome with light output. You can do what Antman did and have them on without having the headlights on.

I still have a bag of relays and wires from O'Reilly I bought to have them run with high beams, but now that I think about it, it might end up doing both since the 2014+ 5th Gen uses the high-beams for drls. I haven't got around to it since I have a set of light bar mounts to install, and I figured having a light bar would be better than having the fogs with the high beams.

The ones I got are from another forum member and I will be installing them in the grill with a 20" or 30". It should still be pretty subtle but functional too.

I wish they were closer to 4500k or 4000k colour. It is a bit on the blue side.

Great write up! I just installed mine yesterday but I seemed to have a slightly different install. I have a 2016 SR5 Premium and the driver side fog had no cover, the passenger side had a cover but it was little black plastic clips on the top and both sides. All I did was pop off the right side and I had access to the fog. Super simple install. Ill have pics coming when im not out in the road.

On my 2016 t4r sr5 I notice the black plastic cover as well on the passenger side. How do you remove it? I will install my morimoto fogs next week. Anyone with a 2016 install these I could use some help. Do I need to remove my bumper or can access from under the front bumper.

I installed my morimotos last year and I just removed part of the fender flap and reached in behind the bumper. With a strategically placed flashlight underneath, you can get sufficient lighting. That plastic cover I want to say has a screw holding it on... but i'm not 100% sure. There's a thread here somewhere that I followed, so I'll see if I can find it.

Actually I think it was this thread. But I didn't remove the bumper.. just removed a few of the wheel well screws and reached in. I had a few good scratches and a hand cramp, but I didn't have to remove the bumper.

Look up the Rigid or Baja fog light threads. There is a lot of good information on how to remove the shroud as well as to replace the light assemblys.
The shroud is held by a pressure clip(press in) on either side and a plastic clip on the top. It helps to remove the front bezel assembly. It is held in by a white clip which is a pressure clip through a tab on the bezel. There are several other tab type clips holding the bezel on. From experience, they snap off easy. They should be the press to release and slide through the frame as you wiggle the bezel and pull.
