Well there you go, raining on my parade.
Just joking, you bring up a good point. They have been awesome, but it will be interesting to see how well they will hold up to the 36" tires on a regular basis. Before I bought these tires I was also looking at the Toyo Open County in a 35", and they were actually the same weight as these Irok's. No matter what, when your running a 35" tire (or larger) stuff is going to break. The main reason I went with these tires is for snow wheeling, and the extra sidewall for cruising down rough dirt roads. When it comes to tougher rock crawling trails I'm going to have to be smart about what lines I take, and when I use the front locker.

Thanks Addison!! I don't know about that, it's far from perfect but I'm happy with it. I really can't wait to get it out on the trail and see how it does! Are you still planning on a Colorado trip sometime?

I’ve been working on this thing whenever I get the chance. I finished up the driver side rear fender and door, so all the body work is done except for the lower rockers (I have a plan for those) and little stuff like the splash shields, painting the rear bumper, etc.
I took the tires to work and balanced them, and then I set the alignment close enough to drive it to the alignment shop for the real deal.
The skid plates are going to need some serious work before I can get them back on the 4Runner, they won’t even come close to bolting back on. I was tempted to build a new set, but there’s not time this season. I’m going to make these work, and add a few little things while they are off. I’ll decide this fall whether I’m going to keep beating on these, or build a new set.
While they are off I wanted to take care of all the maintenance related items I could thing of; so I changed all the fluids (engine, front diff, transfer case, and a drain and fill on the transmission). The supercharger belt was looking a little worn so I ordered one of those, along with the other two belts since they have to come off to get to it. Those will go on before the skids are bolted on for good.

And now for the biggest update of all, I went wheeling! Yeah, the alignment is not perfect, the skid plates are missing, and there’s a whole page of little stuff that needs to be done. But sometimes you just have to get out, and after six months of working on this thing I hit that point!
I went to my snow wheeling spot, since it was close to home and a pretty tame trail when dry. I figured it would be a good shakedown trip, to check tire clearance and let everything in the suspension settle into place. I was also hoping I might find a few lingering snow patches higher up.

I just clearanced the hell out of my passenger inner fender, question? how do you stop shit from catching on fire, i feel like taking a rag and spraying it with one of those fire retardant cans and putting that behind the weld when I do the other side. I guess a wet rag would work too. anyways I just got one of my 35s the others are coming but i figured id clearance first before i have them put on.
also fun fact, even if your ucas clear a 315/75r16, the tires will rub on the spindle...

Thank you! "The devil is in the details" phrase really lived up to it's definition on this project!
Haha, I'm worried about the drivetrain the way it is! The only way I could run a V8 is if I swapped in one ton axles.
