Donahoe racing coilovers

Found a set of DR coilovers on local Craigslist for 500$. They look like they're in great shape. I'm told they were rebuilt about 10k miles ago but I'll probably send them in anyways. I had planned on buying ext travel icons but for less than half price this seems like a good deal. Are these basically the same? Did DR make ext travel versions? Is 500$ a fair price?

I attached a photo because they look different than the icons. The distance from the bottom mount to the bottom of the spring looks significantly longer, almost like a 4th gen unit.

While I can't tell you about the travel, I CAN tell you a little about the DRC.

I'm running them, and LOVE THEM.

DR got bought our by Icon. Icon still honors DRs stuff. If you need them rebuilt, all you need to do is send them into Icon, and they will rebuild them and you'll be all set.

What do you guys think about the price? Is 500 fair or should I ask for 400?

Do it. 500 is a good deal. Like I said, Icon will rebuild them, and you'll be ok.

I've had mine for two years. paid 6 or 7 for them, can't remember.

You WON'T regret it.

I went ahead and picked them up for 200$. I got him to lower the price because the shafts look a little corroded. I'm assuming icon can put new shafts in during a rebuild? The rest of them look very clean so I thought it was weird that the shafts were in rough shape. I haven't gotten a response from them yet about pricing for shaft replacement, any idea?

Awesome deal but those dont look anything like my DR/Icon coilovers i bought for my 3rd gen. The long shank bottom mount along with the flat tophat looks like the newer toyota setup.

Icon rebuilt mine as well as converted them to the extended travel version without charging extra.

You are correct. I noticed that too, guy had two ads one set from his wife's 4th gen and he mixed up the pictures.

Whew! thats great, i felt like an ass pointing it out but i would hate to spend the money and not be able to get them to fit!

No worries! I would have appreciated finding out before trying to install them.

I attached a picture of them and a close up of the shafts that I think need replacing. I now feel like maybe I shouldn't have gotten them and waited until I could afford a new set. I hope it isn't too pricey to replace the shafts.

Dont fret, even with new shafts(yeah, you need them) you will be in way under the price of new ones. Have them go over them and they will return them to you for i bet less than half a new set, including your original investment in them. I paid $250 for a set that needed a rebuild and coils. The shafts were still cherry though, i think my bill for a full rebuild with new coils and the extended travel conversion was $325 including shipping back to me. They are incredible pieces of hardware, congrats on the nice pickup.
