Don't buy from shrockworks

He said they will ship the brackets and skid as fast as possible and include a return shipping label to send the old ones back. Another annoying thing that through all of this, never have they offered an apology or discount or anything. They need to send me a damn black fair lead at the very least.

Check your email, you should have one in there from me at about 9:20 this morning prior to your phone conversation with Mark. Also, it might not hurt to take a second look at the copy of your original invoice sent to you 11/21/12.

I completely understand your frustration with the lead time. Please shoot me a response to the email. I'd like to have the opportunity to get this all sorted out as quickly and easily as possible.

It is. But I like that Shrockworks is here and working to resolve this.

Ha, I'm always here. I troll these forums at least a couple times a week just keeping my ears open for new product ideas, trying to answer any product questions, and obviously keeping an eye out for this sort of thing.

I saw this thread before the OP had even called us and tried to contact him, but apparently had an old email address. Believe it or not, we are still a handful of guys that try and take pride it what we do and definitely like to see that reflected in our customers satisfaction levels. So, it stings a bit when I see this sort of thing happen.

I'd like to respectfully ask two questions:

1) If business is that good, would you not be able to justify additional manpower at some point to meet business demands?

2) What is the idea behind billing at the time the order is placed when realistically there is no projected turn time whatsoever? Does the company run on zero capital so that they must bill imediately to purchase raw materials and labor for the order that was just placed?

Again, not flaming. I feel lucky to get to ask an employee after all is said and done with my order.

Thank you.

Why do people keep reading over it. They just like any other company bill you before producing the product that way they arent just sitting on a bunch of products because customers backed out. And they only took half payment and beginning and will charge the other half upon powdercoating ie. 3-4 day until it ships.

My apologies Wadle, I didn't realize you worked at SW.

I was billed 100% of the price of the product the day I placed my order. Could I get your feedback on that please?

Also, although you will never believe it, I have never found it to be standard practice to bill at the time of the order for a product that is not in stock and ready to ship. Typically you enter all billing information the day you order and the vendor keeps that information but bills only when the product ships. That way the vendor is assured it is a real order and will usually produce the product based on the fact that they have what they believe to be real payment information.

Billing the day the order is placed but not shipping when promised, or even when promised the second or third time, leads me to wonder if the practice is done to avoid people backing out of their orders when it never shows on time. Sure, any of us could cancel an order and request payment be returned, but if I hadn't been billed yet and my order was at 16 weeks I can about promise you I would have said forget it. It's a little more work to have money transfered back and I think that works to SW advantage.

Again Wadle, as an employee I look forward to your feedback. I hope Justin can answer the question when he gets a moment as well. I probably should have PM'ed him the questions since they were directed at him, but I thought him being able to respond in a public format might help him clear the air for the company.

Your condescending tone throughout your previous post really helps in trying to get actual information. Cheers

I spoke with Justin today and he is attempting to fix the issue by refunding my shipping charges (since I was suppose to pick it up had they hit the deadline) and sending me a black fair lead per my request. Hopefully all will go through and I'll have my new brackets and skid in the next two weeks.

I'm curious if you would have received the same "apology" if you hadn't have started this thread.

i would guess no response. It seems to be the pattern after complaints throw a lead at them and hope that makes them happy. If they "give you" the same product to shut you up, its gotta be a low profit item to begin with and its a massive pattern of the same hush money.

Covering up and making nice AFTER you've screwed them doesnt necessarily make it right.

This is exactly the problem. I am new here and trying to research as much as possible before asking 100s of questions asked before.

I would and I would assume others looking to buy from this company would like real feedback on dealing with them. All you have done is place an order with them. That doesn't help anyone at all and your on here for 7 pages touting how great they are with nothing in your hands.

You say you did your research, well did you listen to people that placed orders or actually received them?

When I came here to research I was looking for ONLY people that own the product and if it came on time, was it damaged, did it fit correctly without problems, are they happy with it and the durability of it.

I really don't want to wait six months and hope I have something and hearing peoples actual dealings with the company is a lot more important than how well they took your order.

The only opinions I really is is yours since you don't own anything from them but your hoping things go well.

I really did not want this to be my first post but whatever. I needed to voice my worthless opinion just as much as you are. Good luck with your bumper and I hope it works out for you.

Wadle has it partially right. We offer the option to put half down, so that we dont build specifically how someone wants it so that they can change their mind half way through, leaving us stuck with a grey center hoop only, when most everyone else is ordering black full tube or no tube at all...just an example. Some prefer to go ahead and pay for the entire order so that they can simply wait for the product and not have to worry about paying the other half.

As for man power, we grew into a much larger shop about 3 years ago and almost doubled our man power as well as started doing all production in house rather than outsourcing, and its about time to do it again with the amount that our sales have grown. The first half of the move we played catch up, and now we have all of our fabrication booths filled with welders hired additional help in the ware house and are full again.....so for the time being we're just having to keep the petal to the metal and do our best to keep up.

Everyone says its a good problem to have, which it is, but I personally don't like it when this "problem" creates cases like this.

Haha, the answer is yes. We had an similar case to this a couple months ago where we handled everything privately, and the "review" thread followed. Some of you might have come across the thread.

Point is, we always do what we can to make sure that our customers are happy within our ability. Our lead time is something that is not easily fixed in any short order, and it is hard to bump up one guy without bumping another back. It creates a robbing Peter to pay Paul situation if you will.

Dont want to wait six months dont get this bumper. Lastly in properly researching you will see there are numerous threads in regards to the rigidity and designs of SW bumpers. How many other bumpers have you seen survivie 45mph front end accidents. Solely relying on this post for an opinion on SW is clearly biased. Like I have been saying yes long lead time and if you can have the patience to wait this isnt a problem. Its a great bumper if people dont agree with it, thats the great thing about the other companies out there.
