For those that want to know. These are the color shift halos. They are RGB (red green blue) led's. The following video shows how many choices you have in the color. I really only wanted them to match the HID's I would have installed and amber for parking lights. With these halos, you can dial in EXACTLY what color hue you're looking for. These ARE THE SH!T.

The control box you see on the side of the box actually shows what your halos are doing. And there's a infrared remote to go with it!

... Maybe Philsey will chime in here because I KNOW he has some experience with projector choices.

Ultimately, I wanted to keep the h11 bulb. I didn't want to have a d2s or d2r bulb to deal with and a ballast that was built in. My goal was to have the back of the housing to look as stock as possible, without sacrificing too much quality in light.

Appreciate the compliment, but I'm confused. You want to install a projector with H11 bulb? Why? You'd go to all this trouble and stay halogen?

This? "....and a ballast that was built in". My ballasts (and Harper's) are not built in, they're a separate unit, easily hidden.

I think I may have phrased it improperly. In the back of your housing, there is silicon and exposed wiring through silicon, right? I just wanted the back of my housing to hold a h11 bulb, not a d2s or d2r, etc. The base of those bulbs require an entire new "holder". Not that lightwerkz did a poor job. As a matter of fact, it looks fantastic!

I will say that the cut off on aftermarket (not OE honda, acura, etc..) isn't as impressive. But, by far, waaaay better than the factory Toyota halogens.

My only regret with them is, they never returned my emails. I told them what I wanted to do and fully expected to pay $2k or so. They probably get a lot of "talkers" out there, so I can't really blame them.

At this point the lights are coming together well. Here was the most updated pic I got...


But something wasn't right. I still really didn't think that they stood out enough. So I suggested more paint.

We ended up with the entire housing painted except the reflector of the high beam. In which I installed an LED 9005 bulb. I would not suggest this. They are not very bright, but look pretty cool when all the lights are on. I know, this may not be for everyone, but it's my truck, right?:lookout:

Alright! I was pretty stoked with the way they looked. Now what do I do about that marker bulb. I knew it was going to look stupid with a teeny tiny 194 bulb, especially if I went led.

So after some discussion with Oracle, I told them what concept I had....and they pulled it off.


I know, it looks purple. But remember, I can dial in whatever color I wanted. Jaime said the amber concept strips are pretty bright. They really were...

Lights on! I assure you the headlights are the same color. It just so happens to be the angle of the shot, I guess. HID 6k lows, HID 3k fog


I know it looks like they are different brightness, but they're not. I need to take some further away pics. If it would only stop raining again.

Yes that's a GOBI rack. I'll get to that in a little bit. It looks like the fairing is high, which it is. Some mods will be done with that soon enough.

I'll be mounting a 40" SR UNDERNEATH the fairing, so I haven't taken measurements yet.

So, the GOBI.

I elected not to have the crossbars installed in the rack. I wanted to have a bigger space for storing/hauling stuff flat. I also wanted the front of the Gobi semi contour the truck. That's why you'll see the top bar curve down. Orignially, I was going to mount the SR on top like everyone else, but I wanted to keep the truck "parkable" in garages. I know it isn't that much, but every little bit helps. I also told them that I did not want the vertical "bars" in front of the rack (the part that separates everyone's 6" lights). And I have the sunroof insert also. Haven't decided on the ladder yet, but it's growing on me.

I'm also not too big a fan of the fairing sitting on top of my truck. I live where there are too many mature trees and can only imagine the crap that would get wedged behind the fairing. Plus, when we do get snow (ice here in nova), it'll be easier to sweep away.

And yes, the fairing is di noc'd

Ducmonsta, you are full of surprises! I would be very curious to hear what the rack sounds like at speeds that excess 75 mph of where you're fairing is currently mounted. I'm thinking in theory that the idea of mounting the light bar below and the fairing on top sounds really cool and different, however the noise...? Wind gets under that rack at speeds with the mesh flooring it has and boy you've got one whistling truck and wind drag in practice. My two cents…

Yea its going to sound like a helicopter on the hwy. It's mounted similar to having a Yakima Loadwarrior uptop. The wind channeling through that gap can get pretty loud on roadtrips.
