Is the hood liner a universal fit for all 5th gen T4rs? Has anyone who added it measured or even noticed an engine noise difference?
Great question....hopefully someone has an equally good answer.

When I pulled my '12 TE into the dealer I immediately got into the seat of a '15 TE premium for a test drive. I can't remember the order but I drove all three that day and then my wife and I went to dinner before heading back to the dealer. I don't remember if I noticed the noise difference when getting into a '15 for the initial drive but I definitely remember the difference when getting back into my '12 TE to go to dinner. So much so that when I got back on the lot I opened the hood on the '15 to see if there were any differences. I then noticed the hood insulation.Great question....hopefully someone has an equally good answer.
Gotta disagree with this. Red gauges are much easier on the eyes. To me, blue gauges are always very distracting no matter how low I turn them. It's my only gripe with the 14+ interior.

X2 I would like to know. Could be a practical improvement to add to an earlier 5th gen.
I think Toyota blurred the lines between the '14-'15 SR5 and TE. It's really just opinion if that is good or not. I do like how the TE really distinguished itself from the others within the '10-'13 model years.
Actually, they were trying to blur the lines between the limited and sr5 trim in the US market in 10-13. In 14,15 they went back to keeping the limited different.
When I first saw the the blue gauges of the '14 I liked them better but I've since grown to appreciate the red. It's subjective, but there is something industrial about the red. They are great at night as well.

FTFY :boink:The 14 - 15's have a <s>much purdier nose</s> snout. :biggrin2:
I owned my 2011 new from the lot as well...Are you guys really comparing the tightness of a brand new vehicle and one that has 70k?
whats the major differences between early trail editions 10-12 MYs vs the new ones. I'm looking for a trail edition but i don't see many used ones for sale. The ones i do find cost as much if not MORE than what i can buy a brand new 2015 for. whats the justification to ask 34k for a 10 or 11 with 70k miles?
6 more months to the 2016 and only 12 past that for the 6th gen? Isn't that right? If so, if it were me, I think I would hobble along a while longer, then either buy the most solid 5thgen and at least have the opportunity to check out a 6th gen before you buy.
